While visiting Maximus last weekend he was telling me that he got bigger injectors for his i4 that helped his pull over 35 mph pretty well. He said they were Eclipse injectors I believe.. I have no knowledge of injectors at all, can anyone give me some info about injectors if they have time?

and are those similar to the Magnecore wires that were sold in the GB?

these the spark plugs I should look into getting?

No - the Magnecore wires are spark/ignition wires. The link you posted is for a grounding set???

There is absolutely no need and zero gain to go with iridium plugs on an I4. If you have a V6 - that's a different story only b/c you can go longer between plug changes (and with the V6 you have to remove the intake plenum). But I'm not sure if you have a 4 or 6.

Regarding injectors, I'll let someone else get in to the specifics, but what it comes down to is unless you have major mods - like FI - there's no need and no gain with larger injectors. Remebmer you need a mixture of fuel AND air for combustion. Throwing larger injectors in or increasing fuel ratio essentially does nothing but make you run rich. Kinda like what those "miracle" super-chips do from eBay that tout 50+ HP gain...

But if you do go larger, you'll probably need an upgraded fuel pump, too. You can probably get by with the Walbro 190 but might want to consider the 255 since it's only a little more $.

if you dont know about open and close loop operation, you need to stay away from injectors. basically, just installing bigger injectors will probably throw you into open loop, the ecu goes to default fuel/timing maps, and the car runs richer with less timing. fuel economy AND performance will suffer. i think your friend is dreaming.

well my friend's mods are Proflow Throttle Body, Custom Intake Manifold, Walbro 255 H.P Fuel Pump, Deyeme Racing Mounts, Magnecor Wires. He's going turbo soon, he just bored the turbo in his bro's STi which puts out over 420 hp, so I trust he knows what he's doing. Maybe with his mods he feels the extra kick? But thanks for info on the wires, I'm gonna go look for some ignition wires now. What spark plugs should I go with to replace the ones I have now? I know Mitsus come with NGKs, im not really trying to upgrade, jus have a feeling the ones in there now are overdue for a replacement.

Yah - it sounds like maximus is on the way to a great build-up. I think he knows what he's doing, too. Can't wait to see the final results.

So you have an I4? I'd say get NGK BKR5E-11 or BKR5ES-11. Only difference between the two is the "E" has a v-groove on the cathode where the "ES" is your standard cathode. Both work well.

I would definatley say stay with the ngk plugs they are the best for the galants. Thanks guys for the compliments on my car.I have been on this board for a long time and have done alot of reading. The injectors that serstylz2 is talking about are the 275cc injectors from a fed spec eclipse.I got these injectors when I bought a factory manifold from another member and I thought I would give them a try.I installed these when I did my proflow throttle body and when I tried to start the car after the install it wasn't a pretty site. The car finally started and it sounded like the car was going to stall out but after a few minutes the car idle fined.I do have a few mods and my car is untuned but,I will say this the car does pull harder above 3500 rpms wit these injectors.I know for a fact that the car is running rich and my gas mileage has dropped to about 240 miles per tank city driving.I will be going in for a base dyno and have my air fuel curve changed to match the injectors.I will post up the before and after dyno and then once I get the turbo in I will post up the results of that too.My wife will be so happy once i'm turboed because all of the car parts will be out of the kitchen.https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif Thanks again guys I will keep you posted.maximus
