Hey guys newbe to DSM's & Mitsu's here butttt--- I've pruchased a 92 Talon AWD big16g-AFC-MBC-FPR-6bolt-4bolt-17's, but it has a severly beat-up body. It runs and everthing drivetrain wise is there w/108k miles. I have a chance to buy a 91-2 GS-X. It's not running but the body is straight and interior is good for $300. How much of a problem would it be to do a presto-changeo swap into the GS-X and scrap the Talon? The price is right should I go for it?

I'd go for it. I love my GSX Galant...when it runs.

I am doing the exact same swap to a 90 GSX. My donor is a 91 Eclipse AWD turbo. I am in the process of stripping the eclipse now. I found some good info on this site http://www.ecanfix.com/users/mdhamilton/ ('http://www.ecanfix.com/users/mdhamilton/') and this is a must read here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=55457 ('http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55457')
This thread has it all if your going to do it. The only problems I anticipate after completion is the tranny not holding up. I'm bummed cause my donor car came with the automatic and I am not swapping that thing in!

exact same thing bro... should be no prob, but i would just swap the body parts.... ALOT easier... why would you not just swap the body panels?? and leave the Talon internals?

Galant GSX?
Eclipse GSX?

If it is an Eclipse GSX, swapping in the 6bolt motor will be easy, go ahead and replace the 3bolt rear diff with the 4bolt diff in your talon.

If it is a Galant GSX there is a lot more to consider. Did the GSX just have the DOHC 2.0L 4g63 NA? If so, most of the turbo electronics should swap over. The 4bolt rear diff should swap over no problem(if it doesnt have one already). You will have to swap in the 1g ECU which shouldnt be that hard.

Either way go for it, shouldnt be a very hard swap at all, especially if it is an Eclipse.
