chrome piece on the trunk

Hey guys, quick question. I took off the chrome piece off of my trunk and the two plugs that holds the screws you can see. I know that the 02-03 doesnt have the chrome piece. All you guys with 02 and 03 let me know if you can remove your piece. Cause i want that piece black.

If memory serves me, the '02-03 trunk garnish does NOT have a keyhole. If you don't care about that, good luck.

If you do want the keyhole, try to get a garnish from a black '99-01 GTZ, or buy an unpainted one from a dealer and either paint it or get it painted.

Its two screws that are under the chrome piece. They are between the license plate light. After you take them two screws out, pull on the piece and it comes out

someone told me that there are some plastic white things inside the trunk u have to snap that in order to let the screw come out?

nope, just pull on it and it comes right out. You will see those plastic white pieces after you take the piece off and the key hole for the trunk. Thats why i wanted to know if that colored piece can be remove on the 02-03's

ok so just screw off the screws near the trunk light . andthe whole chrome piece comes out. and i will be able to see the white plastic things right??.. how does the car look without the chrome piece?.. i wanna know cause i have a black G too so..
