Wassup, last week I started to prep my glove box for the PS2 mod, so I took the glovebox out, unscrewed it, and I'm wondering... WTF is the purpose of that heavy metal plate in between the outer and inner part of the glove box? I just took that mother fucker out and threw it away, I hope I didn't need that shit. Oh well, it was too much weight anyway. Anyway, after that metal plate, I cut off the pocket of the glove box using a box cutter. Now all I have to do is measure and mount the PS, then run the wire that will hold the door up.

I believe it is some sort of safety device. We had a thread on this a LONG ass time ago, and that was basicly the conclusion (which I think was derived from Many Brews = 100% correct).

Yeah, I read all the threads that came up on a search, I was wondering if there were any new conclusions. I haven't driven the car yet to see if it rattles any more or less though. Yo that shit was pretty heavy for a lil square of metal. I should have kept it and made a ghetto BP vest.

I've noticed that too, I think it's some sort of firewall, since the blower motor runs around back of the glovebox.

yeah, speaking of. (off topic) I went to get at my cabin filter to clean it, and I don't think I have one. I took the glove box out, it wasn't there, then, I took the black thing from the bottom of the glove box and undid like 5 screws... still nothing. I didn't want to dismantle anything further, cause I was thinking I should have found it by then. I dunno. fuck it. I guess I'll wait till by shit starts to smell like a wet dog before I try again.
