I have a 2002 dover white es, im thinkin i might want to take off that blackish grey colored grille and paint it to match the car. Does anyone know where to go about getting the paint? and if anyone has done this and how it came out? as well as ideas on how to do this ? especially tips on makin the paint stick... any feedback will help....

shouldnt be too expensive to have it professionally painted....unless you're an excellent painter i wouldnt mess with it...with it bein plastic i'd think you'd need a flex agent in the paint....and that can get tricky

i got it done at my shop when i was having some other work done anyways. i cant remember if it was 70bucks cash, or 90 bucks cash, but yeh, thats what my guy charged me. and if you notice, i dont know where he got those grills from, cuz i dont think they are stock, they have that lil fin thing inside in the middle. and as u can see, i also got the parts around the fogs painted.

place it like this address
where it says address past the address that you just copied but dont leave a space like I did...its all 1 line

my back windows, which have darker tint, i think they might be sorta mirrorish. i have seen some dull tints, but mine is really shiny and reflective, here are some pix, the one where you see the garage, its actually a reflection off my window, some people dont believe me, lol.

Actually that's how the stock grilled for the 02-03 are - the little fin things in the middle help support the horizontal slats and keep them from sagging. Some GTZ came stock with colormatched grilles, so you might check around.

If you want to paint it yourself, you can get the paint from http://www.paintscratch.com ('http://www.paintscratch.com') - I got some paint from them and it was pretty much an exact color match.

hey, ur right len, for some reason, last time i checked, i thought they stopped colormatching on the 01 gtz's. but also as i was looking online, the 02-03 gtz's have colormatched front grills, but the parts around the fogs are still black. and i guess i just never noticed the lil vertical fins when my grill was black, hmm.

well i dont know what kind of laws you have in your state, each state could have different laws. but in california, the windows behind drivers side and front passengers side can be ask dark as you want. but the front windows are illegal to tint, but as long as your not too dark, the cops wont really bother you, unless they are just being asses.

if you can find a color to match the paint, Krylon Fusion in th can is pretty good, i painted my grille with that paint in bluw, its made for plastics and requires no sanding. I tell you it worked awesome and its withstood the elements for quite some time now, some pics are at

http://www.electrosonica.com/datapage ('http://www.electrosonica.com/datapage')

click Galant, then under that group theres a bunch of different albums of my car. If you click on painted grille you can see my car with the grille painted. Not the greatest pictures but they give you an idea.

Also any pics too large to view, just mouse over "size" and change the percent of it.

Hope this helps https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
