How much is everyone paying for insurance and their car.

I bought my 2000 Galant ES V6 with sunroof for $6700 and currently pay $64 for full coverage insurance a month.

Lucky ass. I live in Buffalo, NY and I pay $1400 every 6 months. No accidents or tickets. I 've tried everyone of the major insurace companies out there and this was the best price I got. And I'm 25!

Both my 8G & 6GVR4 are paid & my insurance is $ 250. It should have been less.

It depends on where you live, and what coverage you want.

Nope. I have full coverage insurance and the companies say that this car is #16 on the stolen list in America. And don't forget this is NY. The only thing that brings it up that high is the damn comprehensive part. I think mine is about $700.

i'm pretty convinced california is the most expensive place to live in the country. '99 V6 full coverage = $298.63/month.

It's easy to say "full" coverage, but insurance is much more diverse than that. What are your coverage details. $100k/$400k (Per person/per accident) and what are your deductables? $250, $500, $1000, etc.

The area you live in is a huge factor as well.

Do you have towing, rental car, roadside assistance, etc?

Some of these seem awful low, they're likely bare minimum "full" coverage with 30k/100k, or lower possibly.

Where you get insurance? Shit if I can get insured for that price in NY that would be great. I'm about to go to PA to get my shit registered and insured.

Another question... For those of you with; Kits, I.C.E., rims and whatnot, does "Full Coverage" cover loss or damage to those parts? I've been wondering that for a while. I want to get a kit, but I know it'll get f'd up in NY, plus I need for my insurance to cover my tv's in case they get stolen.

Well DEVGRP lives in NY but all his cars are registed & insurance in NC and unless you let the insurance company know what is definately on your car then they won't cover it. But bear in mind that if you tell them all that your insurance will skyrocket.

I pay $104/month and have full coverage, $250 deductable and 100k/300k liability, towing, rental car, and Allstate Roadside (like AAA). I'm near Chicago, so that's a negative, but I'm 25 so it's cheaper. Plus, I'm getting married and it's gonna be going down again. The Galant is expensive though. I priced out a brand new $37,000 Nissan Murano and it's only 350/6 mo. (almost 1/2 the cost of my 00 GTZ's insurance)

All state insures everything on the car that you have a receipt for. If you file a comprehensive claim, the deductable is usually $500, unless a police report is filed, then it's $250 I believe. So, this covers Superchargers, rims, ICE, CDs, etc. I'm rather happy with AllState, they even cover me for Autocrossing (though I believe I will be immediately dropped if I had an accident.)

I pay $540 for my 2001 ES and my 93 Civic. The mitsu has full coverage with towing, rental, roadside and a $100 deductible. The honda only has liability. I am with Geico, i was with state farm but they charged $860 for the Mitsu alone with a $500 deductible and 50K/100K coverage. All I need to do now is to get the civic on the road and registered, it has been insured for 6 months and no damn tags. Too damn cold to work on it.

i pay 148.00 month for 2 cars fully covered 350k/500k I have 2 sons that drive also. Im 40 and love my company. I have tow, full covered vandalizem, everything.

Someone was right on the "what your full coveage covers". I know alot of you have shitty companies and think your fully covered, wait till you see a accident.. I havent a deductable also.... I made damm sure what mine covered since I have 2 teenagers driving.. If they hit a higher priced car Im covered 100% I dont need gap insurance I dont have payments.

So I LOVE Gieco! oh Also they covering the Rims, radio, amps, bodykits,Tvs,DVD,and even neons....

Thanks

Lakeland Florida. I added the xtra on the car values due to the costs of most cars. That 10/30 isnt nuttin.. If you hit a jag, bmw, merc,or better your working for someone the rest of your life. I mean half you guys here have more that 10k into your cars. And might i add Galants arent that top of the line... Dont beat me for that Im just saying alot other cars cost alot more.... Think what 10k will get you in autos..

umm actually it's not that bad... my cable bill costs that much, so does my cell phone bill. if you think that's bad you should see my mortgages and other expenses.

and btw, that insurance includes all ICE and aftermarket stuff as well as rental etc; at least the car completely paid for now.

25 yrs old...$1400 a year for insurance (full coverage 100k/300k/towing/comprehensive/rental @ $50 a day). You guys in NJ with higher insurance (if you have a clean driving record should really check into NJ Manufacturers Insurance...probably one of the lowest in the state). Also, my boy just switched to Geiko and his is pretty low ($1500 full coverage) his car is new and he's 25 too. One other thing is if you work with a bigger company, check with benefits, alot of times your company may get a special group rate...I know my company does and that's why mine is so low now...no accidents/tickets also helps.

I'm glad I read this post. I'm 31 and have GEICO, told them I wanted full coverage for my BMW. I never really thought to investigate how much coverage I have, and went to the site and checked it out. Pretty pathetic actually.. Everything is 15/30 except property damage which is 5k. Comp/coll with 100/500 deductibles, six month = $1020.

I filled out a quote form to up all coverages to the max, curious to see what it goes to https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Strahan
05-26-2006, 01:31 PM
GEICO just emailed me back:

"As you requested, I worked up a quote to make the following changes to your coverages:

Bodily Injury: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident
Property Damage: $50,000
Extraordinary Medical Benefits: $1,000,000
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident
Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident

1997 BMW:
Rental Reimbursement: $1,500

With these changes, your new six-month premium would be $1,204.80. This is an increase of $184.40 per six months. Since your request was for a quote only, no changes have been applied.

Please note; I cannot offer a quote for the limits of coverage requested at this time. The coverages that can be offered are listed above."

Needless to say, I'm going to tell them to make the changes.. I skipped on their emergency road service cuz I have AAA Plus. I had asked for 300/300 and they quoted me 100/300, wonder why they said they cannot offer the limits requested. Have to ask them. But anyway, if you have crappy ass coverage, get a quote to max it, you may be suprised at how inexpensive peace of mind is after all https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Just called them, turns out it's because I haven't had a GEICO policy long enough to allow for 300/300. Ah well. Guess I'll make to make do with the 100/300.
