OK SO i got my kit in took it out today to prefit some of it and notced on package of side skirts. said 98 galant.. ohhh


NOw here is issues I have a 2002 galant es Will that kit fit? Im asking because I know someone here knows. I also tryed to fit the kit it wouldnt fit without major cuts,but then it looks to short also. I think I know this answer but I hope someone here could help me.

pics would be helpful,,,,,,our generation galant (8g) was out way before it was brought to the states,,,,my cf trunk says 98 galant also.....post some pics of the sides....maybe we can help

notice on the 3rd pic and the last pic
If I hold it flush it bowes out to the outside. If I hold it flush to the front fender it bowes out away from car.
Also notice the fucking scratches I put on the lower door... NO biggy im joknig.

Ok I can fit this im sure. BUT if the kit doesnt fit that yr I dont want to cut on it to find out I can easily send it back and get the right ones to fit. Im not saying I cant make it fit Im asking If the yrs have anything to do with it BEFORE I get the cutter out.. thats all.

those are 8g sideskirts.

i know back in the day people had to take the doors off the car to fit those sideskirts. nowadays people say you don't. maybe there is a technique to it or maybe there were modifications done the that style of sideskirt.

but yea those are 8g sideskirts.

and oh yea, like all body kits, fitment can suck at times.

know what I was sitting thinking fuck it i will just take doors off tomorrow and put the sides on,... Im not scared to do none of that I do it everyday. I only wanted to mainly know if thats the right kit to start with. I would hate to modify them in anyways only to be stuck with them not fitting without major mods needed. I like the kit dont get me wrong its one of the BEST molded kits I have EVER seen. I only have to sand maybe alittle and 2k prime them. I havent worked with a nice kit in awhile..Im working on one now thats a nightmare. Its for a Focus and OMG its junk. I am haven to lay resein cloth and all on it. It has so many spider cracks in it .. I spent alday thinking if mine was this bad I would junk it.

Hey Ipaintu, you do not need to take there doors off to put that skirt on. Either cut 2-4" sections out of the very top side(top lip that goes inside your doors that sits up vertically)so it will slide under your doors while they are open. Or cut that entire top lip off then the entire skirt slips under the door. This is much cleaner than cutting the 2-4" sections off.

I have put on 2 sets of skirts just like yours and i had to cut them and add about 1.5" in lenght. This also straightened it up. Just remember to cut the skirt in an area that is easy to sand, like the section under the back door. Its really flat and very easy to fill in to make the seam seem seamless.

I see your car has the same kit. I know this all kits are different . I have done many kits but this one isnt gonna be hard. My main concern was the right parts. I saw the 98 galant stickers on the sideskirts and wondered if they was the same. Im gonna take them to work tomorrow and start the install I guess on Cuttin them. Im leaning to sealing them with seam sealer, in the jams.

I know i got this Focus kit Its fucking junk. I hate this kit. Its used so Im haven hell.. The spider cracks are from hell.. The paint i use is Diamount so the prep has to be perfect. You cant paint Diamounts sanded with anything UNDER 600 grit.. If you do the scratches will show thru,and its a repaint.
