I recently started working on my interior. I have seen a few I liked but I decided I wanted something different. I just fiberglassed over the cloth part of the upper door panels and painted to match car. On the bottom area's I covered the pocket on the passenger side. I also tried to sand the texture off the doors and paint. That looked terrible b/c I dont have the patience to sand anymore. So I covered them in 4-way stretch vinyl. I accented the panels with chrome plates and rivots. Let me know what you think. Also should I carry this over to the inside console, dashboards, etc?

Thanks people for the comments. I do not work in the auto industry or anything of that sort. I wished I did. I am an operations manager for an electronics co. I mainly sit behind a desk all day. I am just one of those well rounded kind of people. I can figure just about anything out. I have done all the work to my car besides paint it. I just do alot of research on installing things. The hardest is by far a body kit, but the experience I had with that taught me how to fiberglass my door panels. I will get my stuff together and do a tutorial on it. Its real easy and looks great. I will also give you some tips on how to make the chrome plates. Thanks again peeps!

Oh its SEXY!
Questions:
1. How long did it take to do all doors?
2. How much if I Send my front panels , 2 obviously

It took probably 1 hour of actual work on the fiberglass. It is really simple. I will do a tutorial on it sometime this week. To anser your question on how much to do it, you could probably do it your self for the cost of shipping it. And once you get it sprayed, they will be the hottest on the block, quaranteed!

Hey man, I must admit I never thought about glassing over the cloth on the door panels like that, but it is "The Hottness!" Since I've got a little glassing under my nails, let me know something, did you just add resin over the bare cloth, use "kitty hair", or fiber "cloth"? Also did you add a few coats of bondo? I was doing something like that on my upper dash, but decided to go in a different direction. Think I might take this approach on the dash pad and carry this theme over to the doors. But I must admit yours is comming along quite nicely.

I am going to get this up real soon. I was wanting to take some pictures while I was doing a buddy's door panels to show how easy it is but he will not bring me his car. He doesnt want to ride around without door panels for a couple of days. If anyone lives near here and dont mind getting dirty, hit me up. It will only take about a day. I will glass them free of charge, with your help of course and you buy the materials. That way I can get some pictures of it. If not, I will just have to type it out.

Oh, I live in SANFORD, NC. Its dead center of NC. If you have a garage or shop, I will come there and will bring my tools. Everything I do to my car I have to do in the parking lot of my apartment complex. My neighbors do not like it, but oh well, haha.
