"Will it Fit?" issue

Lately there has been a lot of threads on the "will it fit?" question. Please use the "search button". If your stock wheels have 5 lugs, unless the wheel requires offset mod, then usually a 5 lug wheel would fit ok. Use common judgement and if you're truly unsure of a particular product, pm a mod so they could help you out.

what does this thread accomplish? pretty much nothing.

you know how many different 5 lug bolt patterns there are out there? i'll tell you this. there isn't just 1. there are many. counting the lugs isn't gonna cut it in many cases.

and whats the deal with the offset? you know. on my car. the only place that it mentions offset is the owners manual. and its only the offset of the factory wheels. doesn't say anytthing about what kinda offset range will fit on my car, doesn't say what sizes tires, what sizes rims etc, other than stock.

and whats the deal with the whole ask the mod thing. just because we are mods doesn't mean we hold all the answers to all your questions. we here as mods are here to maintain the site. asking questions and answering them we are not obligated to do. we just do it for the same reason you and everyone else here does.

Why dont you make a sticky that has the specs for wheel sizes, tire width, profile, offset, bolt pattern, etc. and put it at the top of the wheels section?

I would think if you really want to know a person would just search around...just use a plus size calculator and an offset calculator.

If anyone knows the actual distance between the inner rim and the strut housing (on stock tires) and they post it, then you can use the offset calculator to check to see if there's the possibility of rubbing (rim wise). Also people reading should remember that if your dropped inner clearance could change so they should take that into account (if they don't want to do much work before buying 8.5" rims and 245 series tires).
