I'm sure quite a few of ya'll already knew this but for those who wanna know it, the rear tie bar for 7G (94-98) and the 8G (99-03) is the equivalent to the (95-99) 2G Eclipse.

Don't forget that only the front wheel drive 2G Eclipses are the same. All wheel drive is different.

and the fact that only the adjustable tire bars have been tested and found to work. the non adjustable ones haven't been proven to fit so try them at your own risk.

i installed one on my 2001 2 weeks ago and have noticed a big difference. i didn't know where to put it at first either, but since i know a little bit about suspension and how things affect it, i finally figured it out.

you install it on the bolts that are connecting the rear lower bushings on the factory rear cross-member. here is some pics of mine below.

not for nothing but the rear tie bar really doesnt do anything. dont get me wrong, its a mod and it looks cool and personally I ordered one just for looks. however on our cars it bolts to the rear suspension crossmember. that crossmember is steel, the chances of it flexing are minimal and if it did flex, would a tiny little tie bar be able to prevent it, not likely.

i really could tell a difference when i put mine on. when i firt put it on and it wasn't tight, every time i hit a bump i could feel the rear shift over to one side or the other. once i tightened it up i could tell that the hopping had almost dissapeared.it really did help to tighten up the rear of my car.

Placebo effect.

Your money would have been 100 times better spent on a rear sway bar.

the rear sway bar replaces your factory rear sway bar. look at your new sway bar and then look under your car in the rear that has a bar that looks similar to the bar you want to put in.

lower tie bars really serve no purpose other than cosmetic.

I own this 2001 GTZ and this is where you mount the rear strut bar, and yes it helps stablize your car under hard turning.

if u say so... but it looks like the crossmember is many times more sturdy that that tie bar...

PS i removed the sticky!

thats a rear tie bar not a rear strut bar. a rear strut bar bolts onto the shock towers.
