I recently installed these, and checked over the connections many times. The passenger side "angel eye" works great, but the drivers side is always half-illuminated. It's come on full every once in awhile, but now just seems half-lit the whole time. Is this a problem with the bulbs in the angel eye? It seems as if only 1 of 2 on the drivers side is lit. If so, I guess I need a new pair, or is there a way around this? Or is it possibly a faulty wire connection somewhere that would cause this? I attached some pictures.. thanks

best thing i can tell you is check all your connections. cuz if it come son sometimes that means it works but u prob got a loose conection or conections are tight enought...And another thing u can do to make sure its the fog is take the driver side and hook it up on the passenger and if it works on that side u kno its a wireing prob and if it does not them its the fog it self

it sounds like the power connection for one of the led's in the halo is bad.

Sometimes it would work fully. I re-connected everything, and it's still half assed all the time. The lights themselves work great -- it's the "angel eye" that's screwed up. I'm also worried about my ghetto rigging of the wires, could someone post a picture on how to properly splice a wire? And some wires became short, can I "extend" it by splicing another with it still being a strong connection? The bulb in the "angel eye" itself may be out. I'm tempted to take this to a shop and just have them re-wire it good.

i don't think your wiring is the problem, i think its an internal wiring problem.

the led's are wired in parealled from the factory and then there are pigtails that you hook up your power to. well when the led's are hooked up in parallel, thats where the problem is occuring i think.

aka your lights are defective.

I figured it was probably that. Thanks. I sent the guy an e-mail (got them "new" from eBay) so hopefully he'll refund my money. The only thing is, in the box, both "angel eyes" worked great. When I get the new set, I might mount/install them, then take it to a shop and have them wire it up. I'm just nervous about my quality of wiring.

Alright. The guy is really, really cool and willing to work with me. He was wondering if the bulb is replaceable to make this work? He said send him the bill and he'd reimburse. I doubt it's replaceable though, I need a whole other unit right? If it is replaceable, I don't wanna be the one to take apart the hella assembly.

Also, when I re-do this, what do you recommend to connect/splice the wires? Twisting them with pliers and then using electric tape seems like it probably isn't t he best way to go for me. And people say "wire taps" but there's 32589302582309859032 different kinds, so pictures would be nice

You want the red ones:

i prefer using the t-taps oppsed to the scotchlocks because the t-taps are 2 piece and you can disconnect the tap and reconnect it at any time you want

they come in different sizes. like wanderingpinoy said you want the red most likely because thats the one for wires sized from 22-14 gauge.

See, like an idiot I did not "tap" into wires. For example, to "tap" into the parking lamp wire (1 of the 3 wires), I cut it, then twisted the ends of all 3 (the 2 original from the 1 wire I cut, then the one that runs down to the fogs) with pliers and put some electric tape at the end. So what's the best way to splice wires together I guess, from one end to another? Just basic connectors that can be crimped?

(Anyone in NC wanna do my wiring? LOL)

that technique you used is ok. but, i would have at least soldered or used a wire nut on the connection instead of just twist and tape.
