Understanding that much of the suspension of the 7G Galant is shared with the 2G Eclipse, is the brake system much alike?
The reason I'm asking? Front brakes!
If most of the brake components are the same, other than the number of lug holes on the rotor, could I use, say, the caliper fron an Eclipse on my G?
Another reason I'm asking, if the Eclipse calipers would work, is that it would be possible to get some type of big brake upgrade.

I've been using the DelRay Mitsubishi web site catalog to cross reference parts. I'm at work so I don't have the papers with me but I remember finding that the calipers are the same. Some of the other components were different. Check out the site though its pretty useful. Make sure you post your findings and future research so we can all benifit.

Guys think about it. 5 lug vs 4 lug.

Guys think about it. 5 lug vs 4 lug.

That is no problem, you can turn a 5 lug disc easy into a four lug disc.
You only need to drill 3 new lugs.
Here in the Netherlands we do that all the time.
I was going to do that very same thing putting Eclipse brakes on my galant. But than i found a set of VR4 calipers and discs. Those you can put right on, the only thing you have to change are the hoses.
Now my brakes are super.

Hey Mitsu, that's actually a great idea. Any way you can get those brakes to us in the US. You helped me last year on my Jspecs, maybe we can do business again this year. Are the VR brakes all disks or disks and drums.

FYI, the 1994 Galant GS has 4 wheel disc brakes, so a rear disc conversion would be easy.

I only changed the front brakes into the VR4 ones.I already had rear discs.
The shipping will be very expencive, because the 2 discs and the 2 VR4 calipers weigh 25 kilo all together.
And the question is "can i get another set"?

hey guys, do you know if any of the eclipse rotors would fit our 7th gen galants just for quick replacement since our OEM ones suck!? (of course, the 4 lugs are necessary) or any better suggestions?

Rotors no. 2g Turbo calipers are 2 piston. Like 95vegasgalant said, just swap sides and use 2g turbo brake pads and your good to go

If you grab the spindles, the rotor, and the calipers off a 2G eclipse youll be fine. They all bolt up to the 7G

Heres the obvious: Eclipse rotors = 5 lug. 7g rotors = 4 lug. So if you just swap rotors, the will not fit. BUT the eclipse hubs bolt onto the galant. You can convert to 5 lug with the ecilpse hubs, rotors, and calipers
