out of all who bought this homemade intake, in a few months they end up buying a higher grade model like Injen or AEM. If I were you, either make a custom CAI out of aluminum piping (it's not much $$$) or save up for an intake that's really worth your money.

G's right, yet if u were too purchase the one on ebay, the pipe im sure is fine but it would porb be a good idea to buy a better filter. You dont want that to fall apart on u.

I say buy it. A home made CAI created out of whatever or even my flip box design doesn't match a pre-set mandrel bend pipe fitting to your application. I bought a bargain CAI for around $70 on Ebay a few years back. The only problem I had is that the little piece that anchors the CAI lower portion to the frame of the car broke off. I guess I could have welded it on but instead, I just used a bungee cord. Also, I didn't really care for the filter. The best part was that it was CARB approved, so I have a sticker. So just last month, I bought another bargain CAI and just used the bottom portion that the filter attaches to. This 'cheap' CAI came with a K&N cone filter, too.

Anyhow, I say go for it. For the price, it should last you at least 2 years and if it breaks, buy another one. Price vs value vs performance, these bargain CAI's perform just the same as the brand name intakes like AEM and INJEN, it's just that if you're into showing off your engine, it may look better with a name labelled on it. Me, I couldn't care less.

I have a 2000 V6, too. You'll be happy with this CAI. Trust me.
