Gentlemen and ladies

As you all know and for those who dont know i now own two beautiful 7g's and i was thinking about some performance upgrades and this idea came to mind.

I was planning on doing the 4 to 5 lug convertion on my project 7G, and i was thinking of just leaving my cruising 7g with drums.

Here's the guestion

Should i chance the Cruising 7g to rear disk brakes or should i just go ahead and leave her with drums?

I want to make her look and i was thinking or just putting the rear 4 lug disk on her, i dont plan on changing the engine or making her a fast car. The performance 7g will be getting the engine swap and all the additional goodies.

if you don't mind buying new wheels for your daily driver, then go right ahead. I would suggest just leaving the daily driver completely stock. That way you can have comparison pics, before and after. Plus that's more money and time you could spend on the project car.

see this is what i want to do

1st the project car wont be started untill about two months from now or more, the car was wrecked and i dont want to buy stock parts parts and then have it painted, i want buy first fix the crash and then after i buy the body kit then i will have the car painted.

2nd the daily car well i already have rims all i want to do is put the disk calipers and rotors from the GS model, well on autozone they sell the brake caliper and brake disk for the 94 model galant wich i asume is the GS model replacement

well the only thing that i will need is the Rear Disk Backing Plate and emergency break system and i beleive the stock hub assembly will work on the system if not i think i can get them from autozone

stock hub assembly will work, rear brakes are the same as 95 99 gst, you can get backing plate and e brake parts from dealer

you don't need to buy the cable parking brake
so that save about 55

Parts from local Mitsu dealer
all parts referenced for 1997 GST
looks like everything was at 10% discount. so i'll give the discounted price.

buschings (for upper pins) 2.86 x 2 5.72
upper pins (attach caliper to mount) 4.83 x 2 9.66
lower pins " 4.97 x 2 9.94
cable parking brake 28.37 28.37
cable parking brake (difference?) 26.31 26.31
backing plate (left & right) 51.00 x 2 102.00
caliper support 52.29 x 2 104.58
caliper support mounting bolts 1.41 x 4 5.64
brake pad clip set 9.59 9.59
shim set 9.88 9.88

Total 311.69

but if you go this route you'll have to assemble the ebrake system, which really isn't hard.

If you did everything yourself and got the parts from the dealer, and an auto store, it would cost you about $430.00 in parts. NOT doing the 4 to 5 lug conversion.
