try doin a search bro...i know you're new so i did a lil footwork for ya...

heres a link https://www.thegalantcenter.org/searc...hp?mode=results ('https://www.thegalantcenter.org/search.php?mode=results')

and if you want to purchase a cat-back system...the only company that makes one for the galant is Dynomax...otherwise you can purchase one for a 2000-2004 eclipse 4cyl and add about 10 inches of pipe to it so it will fit....or you can purchase the muffler of your choice (and tip if necessary) and have custom cat-back piping put in (shouldnt be more than 150 bucks for the piping and installation)

hope this helps

Actually, Dynomax doesn't make one for the Galant. They make one for the 2G Stratus coupe but it fits the cali spec Galants perfectly. I have the Dynomax cat-back on my Galant. I'm not sure if you can get that cat-back anymore though.

Megan Racing makes a cat-back for the Galant. Click here ('http://meganracing.com/products/product_detail.asp?prodid=345'). You can find it on ebay for cheaper though. Click here ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33630&item=7976458344&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW').

Since you have a '99 Galant, it's possible that you have a fed spec Galant instead of a cali spec Galant. If you have a fed spec, you will have to do some modifications to get the 2 cat-backs listed above to fit.

By the way, are you the one that asked the same question on RIPP Mods' forums?

did not know that about the Fed Spec/Cali spec for the Megan catback.. chances are my 00 ES is Fed spec so I'll prolly just have my own pipes done by a shop..

Yeah, well, seeing that Fed spec 8G Galants are extremely rare and haven't been made in years, it only makes sense for companies to cater to the masses. The thing is, if you install some headers at the same time as the cat-back, Fed spec Galants won't have any problems since the problem lies in mating the Cali spec cat-back to the Fed spec OEM downpipe and cat. I know if I had a Fed spec, I would just do headers and cat-back exhaust all at the same time.

Fed specs just have the main catalytic converter while Cali specs have one pre-cat (I4) or two pre-cats (V6) as well as the main cat. Because of that, Fed specs have less emissions control and are generally faster. In strict emissions states like California and New York, I highly doubt you will ever find a Fed spec.

Basically, if you see an oxygen sensor sticking out of your exhaust manifold like in the pic below, you have a Cali spec.

Hey i believe i have the fed spec 02 galant and i have the megan racing catback -- i know i dont have all the precats but the only real mod i made to the catback from megan racing is making the cat side bolt holes slightly larger..... other than that fit like a champ --

Mitsubishi stopped making Fed spec Galants in like 2000 or 2001 (I forget), so you couldn't possibly have a Fed spec. Are you saying that you don't have any pre-cats and the O2 sensor like in the pic above isn't there?

It's not too bad to get the Cali Spec stuff to fit the Fed Spec, I got the Dynomax and found out it fit like shiznit. I did fit it on my 00 GTZ and only had to cut an inch off the pipe, add an o2 sensor bung, and add a new flange at an odd 27degree angle https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Easy work for any noob.

EDIT, and the hanger for the resonator pipe is on the wrong side https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
