I've got a 2003 2.4 and I'm trying to get this catback but I'm still not sure if it'll bolt up to my stock cat. I just want to run it like that until I get a header and high-flow cat. Does anybody have any experience with this specific setup? And even if you don't ANY suggestions would be welcome by me, I just need to get a better exhaust to go with my intake..
Thanks,

that's some good stuff your smokin. Maybe it's just me but any Quality N! muffler is gonna be about....175-200 then the piping then the labor to bend it. 320 shipped and you can do it yourself. If I neeed an exaust I'd get it

why do u say its not worth the money? is there something that you know that we don't?

i mean so far im looking at this and you're getting mandrel bent pipe. which is better than the press bent pipe you'll more than likely get at an exhaust shop.

you're getting a polished stainless steel pipe instead of hte normal aluminized steel that you'd get at an axhaust shop

and because of the price of the mandrel bending machine, if a shop was to offer mandrel bent pipe, it owuld have been prebent pipe that they cut and weld together. for each and every bend. which would mean a buttload of labor cost.

I don't see the power gain from this system that a custom made exhaust couldn't accomplish. But then if it cost more to get it done where you are then I guess it's a good deal. I got an N1 muffler for $80 and got the piping done at Midas for $110. My apologies for the bad advise Matrix.

my question about that is once you decide to get aftermarket parts would it cause a problem removing that muffler?

removing the muffler later on won't be a problem. you just got to cut it off.

Any advise is GOOD advise if you ask me. I just need to get an exhaust on so that my little 2.4 can breath a little better on those hard launches.. I'm going to get the Header and the Highflow Cat put on a month or so after this, but I want to get the cat back on first.

But, on a different note: How would that Mufflertech OBX Axle Back *sound* compared to the Megan Cat Back? Cause I really HATE that Honda Fart Can Noise that the ricers love SO much.. :fart: I want something a little DEEPER sounding than say.....a weedwhacker or chainsaw?? LOL. Thanks for the input Guys!!! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

PS- I didn't get to hear the "Jonathansgalant Sound Bite" because the site is screwy, so I can't really tell if the Megan one is deep or whiney. If you HAVE heard it, let me know what you think. And the same for the OBX Axle Back too. I'd really like to know. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

you can get one of those ebay $80 mufflers if you want and as soon as you put some power to it your gonna blow a baffle in it and it's gonna sound like ass. You get exactly what you pay for. No thanks

well the popular consensus on the eclipse forums is that their stock exhaust + muffler is already very good and that the catbacks made for eclipse i4 only dyno 3-5 hp. doesnt the galant have the same exhaust, just a foot longer? so would it be safe to say that any catback for the galant isnt worth the money. $400 for 4 hp.

besides the length the eclipse exhuast has a smaller muffler than the galants.
