Does the 2002 galant 4 cyl have the same 8G64 Motor as the 2000 4 cyl ??

Are there any differences or are these motors identical / direct bolt up ???

you have a fed spec 8g so you are gonna have to transfer things like the exhaust manifolds from your old motor to the new one.

Yo Mike what up, Well this is what happened I bent all the valves on the side with the intake to rebuild the head re-seat all the valves port & polish is costing $450.00 then I will need a kit with all the seals which is around $250.00 I already spent like $225.00 on timing belt, tensioner belt, water pump and few bucks on thermostat and the 2 thermostat housing

So the way I look at it now its cheaper to get a new engine, I am getting one from a the Bronx for $650.00 with 17,000 miles on it from a 02 Galant then I can return all the parts and get my money back Works out cheaper that way and I think better to I will have almost a new engine.

I only wish I could have dropped something hot in there with out having to f**k with the ECU and all that you know, but all in time.

Is that the only thing I am going to have to transfer ???

ECU, too. And the fed and cali spec exhausts won't bolt right up - the flange at he cat is offset.

so what your saying is this I will have to use the fed spec ECU and exhaust as well as the exhaust manifolds

what he is saying is that you have to use the exhaust manifolds ecu wiring etc from your motor now and not the one that comes with the new one
