custom mesh grille q

i already have mesh in both of my grilles, but they are getting wore down from the weather...i am going to buy gutter mesh tomorow from lowes to replace it...what do i coat it with to keep it from losing the shine and hold up through the weather?
p.s. hope you guys didnt mind me posting as sticky, i just need an answer before tomorow morining, when i go to lowes...thanks

I painted mine black so its not shinny, but heard of people using clear coat in it.
