I know its been covered and yes ive searched, but im lookin for updated answers:

First off, I was thinkin bout gettin these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=36476 ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7983296569&category=36476')

Opinions, please...price seems decent, seller has good review and McCulloch iin my opinion sounds trustworthy. Anybody here have any personal bad experiences??

Also, has anyone without projectors had any problems with HID kits regarding blinding people really bad and getting tickets??

One more, is anyone willing to retro fit projectors into my headlights?? I know some of you have done it already, but I'd rather not mess with em.

McCulloch doesnt have the best reputation for making quality hardware. Though quite a few members are using them with no problems.

10k sounds a bit dark. It will probably get you pulled, especially in LA.

don't get those.

you will lose your hi-beam funtionality w/ those. also 10000K is dark; as color temperature (K=Kelvin) goes up, luminosity goes down. of course if you are just going for a colored light and don't care about visibilty, you can get 10000K or even higher.

i suggest this set:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7983657421&category=36476&sspagename=WDVW')

it's 6000K which is a compromise between the brightest (4250K) and the most colored (10000K-13000K). it is bi-xenon which means it is HID low and HID hi, via a moving shield that alters the beam pattern upon hi beam activation (other methods of bixenon functionality involove the actual light source to move). cheaper hi/low kits use a secondary halogen bulb for hi beam (which burn out) and are not true bi-xenon.

make sure you verify your headlight aiming is correct after install to avoid blinding oncoming traffic and you should b fine w/ the police. here is a headlight aiming giude: http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive...at/1347221.html ('http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/sub_care_sat/1347221.html')

i got my current dual HID from ebay (MCOLLOCH 6000K x2 [H7, H1]), but i have JDM headlights so i have different bulb sizes and have seperate low and hi beam bulbs and reflectors.

i read about losing lumens the higher the kelvin, but i woud like some kind of color to kind of stand out other than the brightness which i do want as well. would 8000K be fine??

reelax, does that bi-xenon mechanism also help out with the scattering of the light in our headlights? or is it simply just to adjust the beam from low to high?

well if you must go w/ darker more colored HID, then 8000K is just about as dark as you wanna go; anything over that will be too dark and your headlights will not b as bright as they could b. all HID temperature over 4250K (brightest and all OEM) are just trying to immitate the color caused by the refraction of projector housings. as far as light scatter or glare are concerned, our reflector headlights (OE USDM and OE JDM) were never meant to handle the intensity of HID so the beam pattern is sloppy when HID is installed (even w/ perfect focal point replication). for definitively sharp cutoffs, and the colors you see on AUDI's and BMW's, you basically have to retrofit HID projectors into your housings.
