THIS IS IT :!: :!: .. Finally DONE :!: with my retro... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

I created custom shrouds and bezels..

Here is a diagram of my wire harness that I created to go with the kit to assure correct voltage to the ballast...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/WireHarness.jpg

I used the tsx shrouds out of the headlights.. Just worked with them a little bit and came up with a nice
idea for some clean looking bezels...I think they came out pretty nice...

Here goes some pics of my car completed... and cleaned.. I know the exterior of the headlights have a
decent amount of marks but thats cuzz they were not brandnew when i did this.. it doesnt effect output
or beam patter at all... Here you go tell me what you think of final project.... and btw i removed the washer
mod i had on the projectors i had one #8 instead of 2 on each nipple.. it was nice but I figured id like to have
it closer to stock look... I just didnt wasnt sure how it would look once my bulbs had color shifted so I figure id
leave it stock and then see whats up...

Hey I finally started my retro this weekend.. put about 20 hours in to these things so far.. What i got...
1 x mitsubishi galant (LOL)
2x tsx projectors(Washer mod was performed only used 1 #8 washer instead of 2 #8's on each nipple)
2x toyota ballast
2x philips 4100k

LOL I got to work friday night and i was pretty much done with everything sunday morning around 5 am... I still need to add shrounds but I never found out exactly which ones to get.. so if someone can help me that will be great LOL... I was thinking of using that black stuff that hak used on his retro but i dunno... anyways heres the pics...

Engine Bay
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/EngineBay.jpg

Starting first is just pics of the projectors in the headlight housings...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Projector0.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Projector1.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Projector2.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/projector3.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Projector4.jpg

Now for the painting.. I had a chrome housing in front of the projector that went around the front lense.. I had to paint it because it was creating a decent amount of glare in front.. so i went ahead and got some black from autozone.. the 500 degree engine paint.. cuzz i know it gets hot insider there and i didnt want to risk it creating a big mess in there...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Paint0.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Paint1.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Paint2.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Paint3.jpg

Now the painted bezels in the lense...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Lense0.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Lense3.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Lense4.jpg

Now the best thing about my headlights was i could mount the projectors in a way that i would still be able to use stock horizontal and vertical bolts here are couple pics...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Rearofheadlight.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Adjusters0.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Adjusters1.jpg

Here are the projecotrs in action with some color LOL

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Colors.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Colors1.jpg

I didnt have alot of room in the garage... but anyway moving on...

Here are some pics of the headlights in the car....

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/In2.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/In3.jpg

Here was a road shot at the stop sign...

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Road1.jpg

Here is where i stopped to get some cut off pics... I didnt take alot cuzz i was dead beat tiered.. it was like 430am in the morn and i was working like 14 hours straight..

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Parked1.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/Parked2.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/CutOff1.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/FrontView1.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/plugsnet/FrontView2.jpg

Now I know its not a lot of pics.. just ask for differnt ones and ill get some tonite when it gets dark and post more.. LOL ill have a little bit more patiences..

I also adjusted the aiming of the headlights a little more.. to achieve a wider beam... At first i had the beams merged then i was looking around on the planet and was like wtf.. LOL so i went ahead and changed them yesterday afternoon.. so pics tonight will have updated wider beam... even though i didnt even take any wide beam shots now that i think of it LOL ... well let me know what you guys think...

I am gonna plan this christmas to attempt this same project but with TL's this time.. even though my fogs give me enough light to see signs I rather have Stanley bi xeonx now

Damn that shit is nice. I was gonna get after market hids, but now I'm actually inspired to do a full retro. How much did it cost you for that setup, and where did you get them? Also how hard was the wiring?

Nice job

PROPS BRO... that shit is killer! feel free to make me a set =) maybe later down the line ;-) ... after my second set LOL start saving up now for it man...

I created the wiring harness it was pretty simple... I will have pics of my diagram when i get home today ill post it...

i can get you all the parts.. the ballast usually run about 300 each but I got a guy that can get me a set of toyota ballast.. the slim ones that come out of rx330's and is300's for 225 each.. I can do it for 230 shipped...
Let me know if you ever want to get a set.. I can usually get projectors.. but you have to give me time... on ebay they sell projectors and what not but let me know what kind of projector you want to retro fit...

The ballast do not come with bulbs but I can get you a matching set almost new for about 35 a set.. thats 2 bulbs.. coming out of a car around 10k miles.. 40 shipped... if you thinking about doing the project and want me to get you some stuff let me know.. I got pretty decent deals on everything I got.. and trust me its worth it!!!... and its not as hard as it seems... took me less than 30 hours to complete it really... including brakes and of course sleep!!!

email me [email protected] and ill let you know whats up... :!:

Looking very nice! I think your the 4th or 5th person to have retro-fitted HIDs.

BTW You can find a full kit for about 500 on hidplanet.com Thats where I got my E55 projector kit (came w/the projectors, philips 4100k bulbs, Hella gen3 ballast, and all the neccicary wiring).

Honestly, I hated doing my project. All the work involved was rediclous (took me close to a month). At first I tried doing just like yours (i.e. setting the projectors flush into the chrome housing), but I ran into problems with aim and beam pattern. Finally I just cut out the whole rear end of the headlight housing and created my own mount.

Hmm maybe because you had bi xenox projectors... but mine was easy... took me less than 2 days to mount them... I pretty much worked a few hours friday night then worked all afternoon on saturday and finished sunday morning good enough for the weekday to test them and everything...
But thanks.. Im gonna attempt bi projectors next with my old headlights...
