6G72 V6 Auto (Sporty) to Manual Swap at Club3G

LOL this is awesome Pinoy! Yeah I was having second thoughts on doing the 5 spd swap until I went out racing tonight. I came home to my 5 speed parts litered out on my garage and said "yeah this is definitely going in now" LOL.

But I hope to provide you guys an excellent tutorial on how to do this as just removing the parts from the donor vehicle were a pain in the butt as it was. Now I have to go through and put it back on in my car. The biggest bish is going to be the shifter cables between the exhaust hump and the bottom of the A/C core. On the donor car, I was able to remove the bottom of the filter housing on the A/C core to allow me enough room to get to the two 12mm bolts holding the cable plate in. I'm curious how I am going to pull this off on a car with a complete dash assembly.

As you all can tell, there really is not too much to this swap and everything is pretty straight forward, I am by no means worried about the mechanical part of the swap as I am about about the electrical part of the swap.

I want to be the first to apologize to everyone that was hoping to see this swap occur with my car. After a very difficult deliberation, I have decided against swapping the 5 speed into my car. Due to my horsepower goals with this car, I do not believe that the 5 speed is going to be useful in the amount of power that I plan on putting down to the front wheels. I am going to invest my money into making the Sporty transmission on this 3rd Gen Eclipse worthy enough for everyone to certainly have some positive hope that we will be able to command respect with our Sporties and mop the floor with everything on the street.

What really finalized my decision tonight was taking a ride in Ryu's car (V6 Sporty Eclipse with our Turbo kit ('http://www.tearstone.com/portal/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=31') set at 9psi) with his freshly installed high stall torque convertor. It was a beautiful thing.

I have driven turbo 3G 5 speeds before, but as crazy as it sounds I really do like the automatic (Sporty in our case). Most of the Turbo 3Gs here in Orlando are Sporties and we do a pretty good job of raping faces. We want to move forward investing money into our transmissions to hopefully turn around products that you all can buy to be proud of your automatics as well too.
