Paint problems on Side Mirrors

On the top of my side mirrors there have been some place that rocks have ripped through the paint. I didn't mind it at first but yesterday the entire clear coat and most of the paint is flaking out off the top. Theres a big area about the size of your palm that has no paint on it. Has anyone had this problem before? Could my wheels be causing this? It has about 1in. of tire not being tucked into fenders. My tires are 225/40/18. I'm getting them repainted this week, but I wanted to know whats causing the problem.

he thinks since the stires stick out, they might be throwing debri and its chpping off the paint on his mirrors........ :?

just curious. but how would your wheels affect the paint on the top of your mirrors??

but yea, your mirrors have factory paint cuz it sounds like a crappy aftermarket paint job.

I had the outside "point" part of my mirror chip off with factory wheels.

maybe it's just the bad factory paint on the mirrors.
