Hi.. has anyone done any big brake upgrade on a 7G? I know the OEM 2G Eclipse twin pot calipers would fit.. but by swapping sides.. but what those brands like wilwood, brembo, powerslot and others.. has anyone got them on theirs? my rotors are needing replacements soon, in the same time i wanna upgrade them to bigger ones...

oh another thing.. does the brembo evo calipers fit, even with mods? do i just need the mounting bracket and of course rotors?

well.. you would also need new rims and tires in the correct offset.. most likely 30mm - 35mm so that it would clear the bigger brakes...... unless you get some wheel spacers.

but for the question whether or not the Evo Brembos would fit.. I'm not sure.. some 7G'ers might know.. I know for us 8G'ers it does

Well, the EVO VIII has 5 lugs, so those rotors won't fit on 7G Galants since they are 4 lug, but I don't know about older EVOs.

if you want to use evo brakes. only the evo 1-3 has the 4 lug pattern.

your best bet is to do a 5 lug conversion and work with the eclipse's brakes if you want a variety of options.

gssplaya origninally had the aem (now powerslot) big brake kit with 12.5" rotors in the front and 11.5" in the rear.

last time i saw the black widow though, it had 6 piston wilwoods in the front. covered with 18 inch volks.

The Evo VIII calipers will not bolt on. The bolt holes that attach it to the knuckle or spaced differently. Unless you can get the calipers for free, it would be more worthwhile to get an aftermarket brake kit. An adaptor bracket would need to be fabricated for the Evo's calipers, and may not even be possible given relatively small change in the spacing (maybe .5" for each bolt).

I posted my advice about this in another post about this in the 7G forum just a minute ago...
