Just for you guys who never saw this link. Good information there. You will still have to use JiPs tutorial on the wiring the coilpacks and 2g ECU or you could use the 2g spyder 4g64 ECU.

Travis's page has been under construction for like 4 years now lol. He and I did Moosh's headswap a couple years ago.

He left out what to use as plugs for the holes if your CHEAP like us: Take a soda can cut it open so you can lay it flat. Take the 4g64 head gasket that you pull off and lay it down and trace out the 5 holes that need to be blocked and just cut them out a lil bigger then your trace. Stickem down on the block with a lil rtv and drop the new headgasket down ontop of them. They are non pressurized drain holes, you just want to stop crap from falling into them.

Theres a few "tutorials floating around but theres not much else to cover other then wiring. In which JiP kindly has a tutorial(which I have, but need a hosters).

And thats not a 4g63 its a 4g64 DOHC spyder which came with the same sohc motor our 7gs have.

it might be better to use somethign like jbweld for those holes(not the quick curing kind)

those holes are non pressurized from the motor, but there is still crankcase pressure to battle.

i would feel more comfortable with somethign more secure.

but to each his own.

also, since we have a 7g radiator, and not a 2g radiator, you woudl use different coolant hoses.

I was wondering would the oil galleys be different if the dohc head was from a GS? I saw a GS in the JY today and was thinking about the far future of my old 4G6. if i did put the head on it would the two be any different. But i still have one project to complete first.

Nope, you actually have to use a 94 GS Head gasket for the swap :) .

I heard that some people used freeze plugs to cover those holes.

Well there's the Power Transistor and the knock sensor that aren't on those lists that I remember off the top of my head. I'll have to look over my papers again later.

you know i was looking at this recently and wondered about people who just go DOHC and no turbo or plans for turbo. Why dont you just get a Stock GS water pipe, thermostat housing and top outlet as the bottom outlet is still the same part as the SOHC and run stock GS radiator hoses, that way, no dual radiator cap setup or extra lines to block off and no weird fitment as they use the same radiator.

parts you would need

Water pipe- MD189194
T-stat housing- MD188386
Water outlet- MD190840
Upper rad hose- MB845903
Lower rad hose- MB845904

also, for pre 97 cam shafts, there is still the slot for the Cam angle sensor so do not try to run the interface plate way as it is a headache, just use a 1G CAS or 97-99 CAS
