what is the compression ratio for the 6G72 and what are the ways to increase that?

can't "increase" or "decrease" it unless you change the pistons or do a few things to the head

Not sure on the numbers. But you can increase it by buying high compression pistons or getting a thicker headgasket.

ahh so that sounds like the reading i did on Rezlos project where he was spacing the pistons and doing things with the heads. I assume that would change the compression ratio. What about fuel injectors is it a myth that low octane fuel clogs up the fuel injector. 6G72 needs high octane fuel to prevent knocking but would low octane fuel effect gas mileage?

low octane will affect performance, mileage and the motor's overall life force. the V6 was designed for high octane, so only use 91 or 93, depending on your area

do any of you use fuel additives use if so which brand and are they effective in your opinion to increase performance or for preventative maintenance purposes? sorry for jumping from topic to topic

Meh only fuel additive thats worth anything is fuel injector cleaner, and a lot of people dont even like that. To put it short, there is not answer to cheap power.

Thicker head gasket = lower compression

FYI, the 3G Eclipse GTS has a CR of 10:1, as do the SOHC 3000GT.

shave the head (machine shops can do it) will bump up compression ratio's thats what i did
