When did they switch the Diamondstar tranny fluid to SPIII ?

I have an 01' and I read where they changed the diamondstar SPII to the SPIII sometime during the 99-03 years. I read on some service bullitens some shudder from the torque converter was a problem with the SPII and the fix was to flush and fill with the SPIII. I'm curious if my 01' has the newer SPIII.
