yeah, so ive been getting the stupid lifter tickin for awhile now and its really starting to get annoying, and i think its getting worse, do u think i should just take it to the dealership? or do u guys know a better way?

Try using a thicker oil or get a product called Restore. Otherwise just try and ignore it because it's very common for the 7g and a lot of the people have the same problem. It's, more of an annoyance than anything.

ah the eternal lifter problem on the 7Gs....

dont worry about replacing the lifters. it costs an arm and a leg cos parts are imported rareity.

i replaced mine....although not as bad sounding during cold starts it still occasionally tick tick ...fades...tick tick .. fades...

i agree with bradley. Use ticker oil. 20w-50 or 25w-50 type. put some of that STP lifter free additive in too see if it helps.
going to thinner oil like 5w-40 makes lifters unhappy..even though in theory the oil should travel faster due to thinner oil during startups.

i just changed from 25w-50 to 15W-50 Valvoline engine armor...syn fortified.
the ticking came back randomly and randomly fades out.

ticker oil is the way to go.
no restore additive over here in aust. :cry:
