Even though I dont have a SAFC2, I do have the Emanage and their installs are similiar.

A word of advice, DO NOT go by color code alone. This is what I did for my emanage and fucked up some critical wires the first time around. Trust ONLY the service manual.

The colors of the wires on the ECU can differ by model-year, generation, model-type (i.e. 3G ECU vs 8G ECU), emmision specs, and possibly even trim level (i.e. ABS vs non-ABS vehicles).

Sorry bro but I don't have the pictures anymore. Might have been lost in one of my thousand reformats before I knew better. Take Jet Blacks advice though. Don't color code look for the actual pins.

Do you have a service manual? Its not hard, look up the wiring diagram, figure out which pin goes to what and splice in the SAFC line. You know which wires are what on the SAFC, just have to look up the ECU wiring. THeres 8g service manuals all over TGC as well. Its only like 8 wires!

FYI for future reference on installing A'PEXi S-AFC II, bottom of page 500 in the link above,
11 is your rpm wire, 41 is your power wire, 42 ground wire, 65 is your air flow signal wire, and 78 is your throttle signal wire. we have no knocking signal.

In the A'PEXi S-AFC II wiring diagram book refer to page 48, terminal drawing M6-b

That is what I noticed too when I was in a Cold Air Setup I was lucky to hit 1000. In Shortram I have no problem getting 1300.

One of the unanswered questions. Is it better to have more warm air or less dense cold air. All I could tell you is in shortram I had better response times. So I always keeped it in shortram.

But check out the RPM's lol. I thought the engine was going to break when I did that.

ahh thats not too bad. everyone's slipped into the red a few times. i went up to 6300 for a split second racing some pos integra.

you're turbo now right? all of my experience on friends turbo cars, and my car, is that a cai on a turbocharger hurts performance. my friends A4 1.8T, saab 93, eclipse gst, my car, we all tried a "cai" alternative, and the car was sluggy and the turbo wasn't as peppy as usual.

i say the oem route with a cone filter is the best for turbos on our cars. i just have the simple metal 2g intake pipe with a 4.5" cone filter. can't breathe any easier than that i guess

Just to point out, the engine will rev up to 6500 a few times in a row when you disconnect the battery. When it gets all your shift points set, and your flooring it without holding down the gear, it will go all the way up to 6000. And when you do hold it in gear it will hit 6250.

Though this is all for the 6.

BTW Prophet, what happened to your car man?

well i had to put on my old turbine housing cause a bolt broke off in my new bullseye housing.(had to take it to a machine shop cause the easy out broke off in it too  )i'm also am running a 1g unported manifold temporarily till my new one gets here

was running about 17 or 18 psi during that run.

i think the airflow on the safc2 is going to be the accurate one cause the logger will show the corrected airflow from your safc2 output that the ecu sees. but idk.
i hope to squeeze more airflow out when i get my housing bolted back up, and with my ported sbr manifold. should have much more top end flow.

Your getting pretty bad gas mileage. If I boost around town I get at least 250mpt, if its all highway miles I get 300-400mpt.

Tonight, after fixing a intake leak where the cap for a nipple on my intake came off. unmetered air was coming in after my MAS and throwing off my ratio.

I am trying to install mine with not much luck. I have power to it. I am using cluster of ground wires right below the harness. I connect the RPM signal wire from the SAFC to pin 45, (cam sensor) and am not getting a reading. I do not want to go any further until I get this figured out. Does it really matter what I ground it to? In the book it says the brown wire must be closer to the PCM than the black wire. How important is that? thanks
