jdm grill painting

aight i just got my jdm grill in. the problem is its in silver. i wanna paint it to match my white 00 galant. do i sand all the paint off of the original or just paint over it? it has a couple of scratches.

sand then primer it before you paint it the final color

go to the store and get you a can of buldog.. follow the directions.. bulldog is the way to go

aight what grid do i use? i was at the store today and was not sure which grid to get.

it all depends on the depth of the scratches. if the scratches are deep in the plastic, i'd start with something more coarse. then gradually work your way up to like 400 grit. prime paint. snading off the high spots between coats. but yea, i'd also get one of those assortment packs with. use like the 400 grit to knock down the high spots and use the higher grit like 1000 grit for taking off the orange peel and even higher for final polishing.
