with proper prep work you can use almost whatever paint you want to paint the plastic parts of your dash. i've used the expensive automotive spray paint at the auto parts store with no problems, i've used the expensive spray paint from the hardware store with no problems. right now im using the cheap 99 cent spray paint without any problems.

the only paint i've had problems with is the krylon fusion. they say there's no real prep to it, just clean and paint. and after a few weeks the paint started to peel because it didn't adhere to the plastic well. but if you want a good paint job, a good prep job is critical.

i believe it was pinoyesv6 that siad in another thread that you cant really paint the dashboard (if its the vynil part your talking about) because the vynil needs to breath so if you try and paint it, it will just crack and stuff. u'd be better off wrapping it.

Use Vinyl dye to re-paint the dash.

I used krylon fusion and it is still good. It may have been that you didn't clean it well enough first, any oils or mold release agent left from the manufacture of the part (yes they can still be there 10 years later) can cause it to peel.

I went up to Autozone last night and they have a type of paint that is specifically for nylon dashes. Do you think it will work or does it still have a good chance of cracking on me?
