I was in the market for a new set of rims so I ordered these after giving it a lot of though. I would like to know what you guys think about these on a White 8G Galant. They do match my limo tint on the windows. http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=9749 ('http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=9749')

What color would look good? I'm tired of silver since I have always had silver rims on it, and I hate chrome.

oh yea I think that would be sick!...More spokes looks better on bigger wheels like 18's 19's......so if ur for sure goin for 17'' i'd go with a 5-spoke wheel...thats my .02...

good luck

Damn I did not think about the size a spokes thing. I bought the 17" since I have a 4cyl. I did not want to go with a wheel bigger than that. Oh well the 17's with Toyo tires only hit me up for $935. That a lot less than I thought I was going to have to spend for rims and tires. I will see how they look on the car I guess.

n3oAcid24 I only say that because all the other rims I looked at cost around $1400-$1500. I plan to sale the rims I have on my Galant now to take a little bite out of the $935 I paid for the new ones. I will make sure to take a couple of pics. Now the hardest part is waiting the 2 weeks for delivery. LOL

the thing i don't like about black wheels is no matter what design, you can't really see them. I do like the lip tho...

glad you actually ordered instead of asking what the GC community wanted on your car.

I want pics too https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif i have a white galant and i'm a big fan of white/black color scheme in life https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Yeah rain I ordered them so nobody could talk me out of it lol. I know if I did not pull the trigger and order them I would just be even more confused of what to get. Koncept I really like that shade of blue with the white rims in the 2nd pic. Low sittin 8g that looks nice with the hood.

Damn that silver and black does look good. I wanted a silver Galant, but I went with white at the last minute when I bought my car. I think my car would look much better with the rims if it was dropped. Anyone know how much I should expect to pay for a drop? Last time I was a member of TGC a couple of years ago it was around $1000. Has the price gone down any?

depends on whatcha looking to do
ran me about 150 for progress springs lowered 2.2 in front and 1.8 in rear
and 340 for the kyb agx struts and 200 for the install. 150+340+200=690

the drop looks sick and the ride is just a tad bit rough..

I like those rims in an 18" or 19". Not too hot on the white on white combo, but you made a solid choice, it'll look bad ass I think. Before I even opened the pic I was thinking black with a polished lip looks good on white. I was hoping it wasn't a white rim posted. The spokes are a little different which is cool. you'll be happy with them.

You can't forget about the black on black...

paid 170 for tein springs. and dropped it myself. total cost: 170. with the tutorial on this forum, it explains 95% of everything u need to know.

I think the black with the polished lip was a good choice. Even in 17" they will still look good as long as you get a nice drop. Look at Skillz911's Galant... he has 17" rims and it looks great.

Niteowlz your Galant looks nice with the black on black. Qnz I thought about doing te drop myself, but I have never done one before. I will take a look at the tutorial and see if it's something I might be able to do. I could rent the tools from Autozone I guess. Danj I don't have a drop yet so I am afraid they may look really small. Black makes big people look smaller so I assume it does the same for rims. I have 17's on the Galant now, but theyare silver so I think it makes them look ok when it comes to size.

Damn, why cant they make those in 20's, that would be badass.

when i did my drop, i didnt even know what an intake was. thats how little knowledge u need to do the drop with that turtorial. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

Sweet! Looks like I will stat researching the springs and shocks I want and give it a shot. I was thinking about the Tein springs, but Im not sure yet. Qnz what type of shocks did you go with?

qnz
10-03-2005, 07:21 PM
im on teins and stock shocks. so far so good...

and if youre gonna do it yourself, ur gonna need a buddy to help you put the shocks back on. taking them off is a lot easier. 8)

Here she is with the new rims. The pics don't do them justice. I know it will look a lot better with a drop, but I'm happy for now. Next I will install my HID kit.

not bad not bad, yeah the drop will definitely help as it takes away from the wheels

are those tires low-profile? if not, definately think about it, it will make those rims look quite a bit bigger.

UAL Tripple 7
10-06-2005, 07:04 PM
I'm not going to go with a lower profile tire because the ride will suck even more, plus Chicago streets are made up of potholes will small stretches of street in between LOL. I agree though, it would make the rim look bigger.

mrjaydeeone
10-06-2005, 07:07 PM
what size are those tires?

UAL Tripple 7
10-06-2005, 07:15 PM
The tires are 215-45-17 Toyo Proxes.

mrjaydeeone
10-06-2005, 07:42 PM
isnt that the normal size tires you guys with 17s get?

UAL Tripple 7
10-06-2005, 08:03 PM
It's the normal size I go with, but I have seen others with a lower profile tire on 17's. I thought about going with a lower profile tire a few years ago with my old rims. The tire shop said it would not be a good idea.

mrjaydeeone
10-06-2005, 08:14 PM
yeah I know whatcha mean I got 40s on my 18s and I live in New York, I know all about the ride https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif , I did have a friend with 35s on his 18s on a galant by me and that profile was even thinner, kinda looked like the rubber was just painted on lol
