um... 2.4ft/lbs is less than hand tightening.
are you sure about that? It's probably closer to 24 ft/lbs

HELL NO!
24 to 27 INCH pounds.
no more.
NOT foot pounds. youll bust the little bolts into 50 pieces, and crush the valve cover into mush.
I've never seen torque specs for the modern style valve covers. It's generally just assumed to me along the lines of "snug". The old 2 bolt style had torque specs because there were only two bolts, and they were much larger. One of the first valve covers I ever pulled I broke one of the bolts because I was trying to torque them in to ensure there would be no oil leaks. And I think I only torqued it to like 6 lb/ft.
