I have an Injen RS 1869 CAI, which can be converted to a short ram. I've ran it in both modes, and I really can't tell a difference performance wise. I think prophet over at dnaracing.net did a karm test that said airflow was better in short ram mode.

I feel safer with the intake in short ram mode, because there is little chance of hydrolock, but the intake loses a vibra mount support that way, and tends to rub against the battery. It shouldn't damage it though, unless your battery doesn't have a protective wrap.

Injen claims you can get up to 12 hp with the intake, but I'm thinking it is more like 5. The most impressive part about the intake is how it changes the sound of your motor... it thunders. I'd buy it just for the sound change.

yeh, i've had both CAI and ram air, and i couldnt tell a performance difference, maybe cuz there isnt one, but i could definately tell a difference in sound, the CAI sound a little bit more muffled, and i didnt really like it, i prefer the sound of my ram air.

it is the same... the engine will suck the same amount no matter what... u can probably channel the pipes to a vent to get more air maybe get colder air ... but it really doesnt do anything either...

there are only 4 brands. injen, aem, k&n, and ebay brand. falken makes a v6 intake version only. the first 3 are all the same and the best

Thats what you get for hanging out at ClubSi. The intakes make a very marginal differance if any.

Don't even think about the Weapon R intake. I don't think I've ever seen a positive review of it.
