Ripp. I had bouncyidle. The stage 1 kit I had no problems with, its when I went to 2 and 3 is when the problems started.

Tearstone. Big time delay on getting the kits. I havent heard of any problems.

Just my 2 cents.

Haven't owned either but my opinion on the companies is...

RIPP sucks with there opinions on not being able to turbocharge the 6G72 or 4G64.

Tearstone.... proved them wrong. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

and also what VegasMatt pointed out. I have not heard one bad thing about the Tearstone kit other then shipping but that problem I believe had to do with one of there resellers. I would order direct through Tearstone.

What problems did you experience with stage 2 & 3?

Eratic idle, stalling, and my engine collection. Before the black box came out for the V6, I had a hard time having the HKS keeping the tune. It seemed every month I was at the dyno having it tuned.

Is the F-con what Ripp provided for tuning when the SDS first came out? It looks really similiar to the Emanage in that in can control timing and IPW. Though I wonder if its due to Ripp's experience with the F-con that lead to the reasoning that piggy-backs don't tend to work well with our cars.

I prefer turbo kits over superchargers straight up, however I would LOVE to see someone on hear get a stage 2 sds kit, get a custom pulley made for higher boost and run it on a standalone. I garantee that on a standalone the SDS will work flawless.

Kits gone and on an Eclipse GT, he is running stage 2 with my same HKS unit and getting horrible numbers off of it. I think its a bad tune, but I told him to get the black box from Ripp and it would run better.

I saw those draw thru kits, Im going to try the tearstone kit and play around with it after christmas.

I appreciate all the kind comments that were posted. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Yes there have been shipping problems but that has been alleviated and if you buy a V6 kit now you can expect to have it ship no later than 6 weeks from now. Soon, we will have enough kits hopefully around Feb time frame where we can ship the kits & engines the next day after the order is placed.

Thank you all for your continued support and we are doing our best to serve the 8G Galant, 3G Eclipse, 2G Strat community as it seems to be the bastard cars that Mitsubishi seems to want to forget about. The 4G has gotten so much attention and 2006 has not even hit yet.

The draw thru kits basically allow you to continue to use the MAS, and is basically setup how the supercharget kits should have come to begin with.

I would look into the MAF translator (which works on our cars BTW). It would be more cost effective and we can still provide e-manage sales & tunes on that as well. This is a project I will be looking closer at next year but for the time being we have to concentrate on getting kits out.

I have had no problems with the SDS kit; it all depends on whom you talk to. A lot of people tried installing their SDS kits themselves and ran into a number of problems down the road, or they got some side mechanic to do it and ran into problems later down the road also and all of them blamed faulty installation of their kits on RIPP. If you live on the east coast and you get the Ripp kit make sure you get installed by Ripp themselves or a professional that has experience installing turbo and supercharger kits.

Whatever your preference go with it, you like turbo's get a turbo, you want no lag time get a supercharger, if you really don’t care either way and you just want to be faster, get whichever is cheaper.

comparing the tearstone turbo kits to the rip sds kits is like comparing a sports car to a bomb. one is for performance (see: tearstone) and the other is actually a bomb

Well, I am probably selling my car for a corvette next month, but if something happens that changes my mind, this is number one on my list, all good things I have heard so far about tearstone.

This is not true in the case of the Vortech centrifiguals, they have to build boost like a turbo. Which is why they use 9psi pulleys on 5-6lbs settings and bleed off the rest.

Damn tearstone is everywhere! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

When someone in NJ or NY gets this kit for their 4cyl, we will meet up at the track one day and race.
