Yup. That's right. I was just talking to one of my buddies over at wiseco and he told me that come january there will be several different styles of pistons available for the 4g64. Ranging from turbo apps. to high compression deals. They will be in the 2003 wiseco catalog. They are made of 2618 alloy and a dedicated forging is done specifically for the '64. The price he gave me was $406 for a set w/ rings. Not bad compared to the $125 a piece that JE wants to custom make them.

Hell yeah! Do you know if they are going to have different pistons for the DOHC (supposively the 4g64 DOHC needs different pistons).

Otherwise...keep us updated on the process please https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

I think the bore size is the same on the dohc '64 as it is on the sohc. I don't see why it would be different. But yeah, the pistons are going to be on the shelves come jan. so stand by. I know I'm prolly going to be the first one in line to get a set. woo hoo!!!

According to the manual that came with my '94 the DOHC had 10:1 compression as opposed to 9.5:1 for the SOHC. But other than that they are the same. Nifty on the pistons though. Any word on new rods to complement those pistons? Or any other internal goodies? I'm definitely gonna have to look into this further. Does this place have a site? (yeah, I could go search google for it, but I'm off to class right now and also very lazy)

I'm going to talk to my guy at wiseco and see what other plans there are for the '64. I'll also try and get a website. Their 2003 catalog should be coming out very shortly. Don't quote me on this, but won't rods from a 4g63 work?

I already have a set of these pistons with 8.5:1 compression. Make sure that wiseco makes these overbored because I got 86.5mm pistons and had to end up putting sleeves in my block I think that cost me $250 extra. So make sure that they are overbored by ten or 20 thousandths of an inch.

So, if the rods on the 4g64 are the same rods as on a 4g63T, will they be able to handle the extra .4L displacement (with turbo)?

Are there any after market rods available to us?
