Yeah, I've been seeing those and the black housing one pop up on Ebay more often now. I guess it's a decent alternative of those who are too lazy or don't know how to remove their reflectors from their OEMs. Also they are at a good price for those who need a donor pair to make projector headlights.

It's not the same unless you do it yourself https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I agree with you man. But maybe if these were available back when I did mine, I wouldn't have water condensation in mine now. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

well, if you thinkg about it, the truth is....we all clearned our corners because these weren't available when we got out cars. I like the fact that those have a reflector on them.

ive had the black ones for 2 months now. had condensation in one once but it went away an hour later. and the only reason it did it then is because my car was hot and i washed it (something i never do because its bad for black cars)

Lonestar22, the fact that your car was hot has nothing to do with water getting inside...IF you never opened the headlight for any reason and you have the rubber cap on the back, no water should get there. Raises some questions about quality.

Now that you mention that, i would consider resealing them, don't really have to open it to do that. Just get a tube of clear silicone and the seal the seal that's allready there. If you do it right, you should be able to get whatever gap let the water in.

Once, I had a lot of condensation inside my headlights, and it was there for quite a while. So, I took the covers off the little bulb compartments (the little cylinder cap thingy that you twist off to change the bulb). I took them off, drove around normally and within that same day, all of the condensation was gone.

I actually left the covers off out of laziness, and couldn't help but notice later on that day that the condesation was all gone completely.

About those cleared headlights, that's a rip off and a half! Lemmei wiegh this out:

Spend what, 10-15 minutes clearing your corners manually and have the satisfaction of a job self-done, or spend $700 of your hard earned cash on pre-cleared headlights, wait a week for them to arrive in the mail, hope your order didn't get screwed or lost, hope it arrives undamaged, take your existing headlights out, install these, turn them on and say "Hmm, nice." and then spend however much time trying to find a place to store these old stock headlights you just uninstalled, and as you walk around with them trying to find a spot for them, you take a good look and realize you could've just saved $700 because you can now see how easy it would've been to do it yourself.

I think I'll take the first option. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

NitrusOxide, you do have a good point about saving $700, but actually they are only running $150 plus shipping. So actually it's not a bad deal for a quick upgrade for the lazy. Also you would have a perfect set of donors to use for a projector project, whether you used your OEMs or the newer cleared lights.

i have the pair that i took out from the accident that i had a while back. everything is fine on them except that they have some minor cracks where the screws go on the grille side of the housings. they have both been cleared out as trial parts to see how easy it was. if anyone wants/needs them for donors for lenses or other parts, i will let the pair go for $50.

you'll never find a pair that you could pay for, for $700 even if you wanted to. maybe if u asked me and begged i sell them to you for that much. these lights are a good alternative for those who need enw lights and dont want to pay $245 for each light like mine was gonna be when i got in an accident. i figured hey maybe since my lights were really hot and i sprayed them with really cold water maybe it caused them to fog. because it didnt stay long. doesnt matter i got new headlights now, same kind. and 1 spare. but these are good lights. the only difference in these is that they have a clear reflector so you get a better signal light beam pattern instead of just light shooting out. i love these lights and would recommend them to anyone, i might buy a pair to do my projector retrofit soon also

I'll take them off your hands if they in the condition you describe. I'll pick them up off you the next time I'm down in the "A" or if I catch you at the next meet at Fuddruckers.

Know what? I didn't even look at the auction price. I simply saw the MSRP. Even though, I still think it's more worth it to do it yourself.
