after driving for a while, if i turn my heat all the way down to cool and then all the way back to hot its not hot anymore, like ice cold, not even a little heat. doesnt happen all the time and the engine is allways at operating temp(thermostat is not stuck open). then it has no heat until i park the car and it cools down and i start it and warm it up again. i can hear and feel the temp door moving inside the heater box and i checked the heater hoses when it was running and they are warm, but not hot. im a technition(audi at the moment) myself and have checked all the obvious, but dont have much experience with mitsi hvac systems. the heater hoses being warm instead of hot tells me there is a restriction, but why would it be intermittent? correct me if im wrong but this car is a full flow heater without a heater control valve. the only related repair i have done is put a used engine in it last summer(thanks to my girlfriend), i changed the water pump and thermostat allong with all the timing belt components and used all mitsu parts. im kinda stumped, maybe one of you mitsu techs can help me out.

Yeah it seems to be a Mitsu defect. Check the post below.

yep thats it, i reached up there and poked it with my screwdriver and it started moving and the heat came back on, it also made a grindin/ratteling noise so that also explains the noise i was hearing every once and a while when i changed the temp.
