I am far from expert on this but my cousin was into the import scene big time and he told me originality is keen.

the ultimate show car huh... well, for starters I would say make sure your kit is molded. What about custom interior? New paint?

that bumper u got is for an 02-03 galant. i heard the bumper might sag cuz its missing the middle mounting point.

and youre gonna need more than that to enter/win shows. lotsa ppl here have that on their cars and they dont even do shows.

I'm interested to see what that bumper looks like when it's put on, for some reason it looks big as hell. I remember seeing this a while back, I think on Galant Speed

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>How to build a winning show car! *

Back in the mid and early 90s, when the import industry was just emerging, a car with an exhaust and three spoke rims was considered “fixed up”. Today the show scene has evolved…incredibly. It has become highly competitive with much more at stake then before. Now instead of showing off your car just for personal enjoyment, teams are battling it out for media coverage, cash payouts, and most of all sponsorships. So lets go over the basics of what it takes to win: *

(Keep in mind you can only score a max of 1000 points per category) *

Engine bay: *

The most overlooked area of the show car. Today’s top winning show cars can compete in the show circuit and on the track. Not only that but the engines themselves can gain a huge amount of points. *

JDM engine swap *

Exterior: *

The most overly done category of the show circuit. *

i totally agree. just because your car has m3 style mirrors, doesn't mean its worthy enough for the bmw m badge.

if you wanna be all badge crazy, get a ralliart badge. you don't have any ralliart parts but at least its still mitsu.

hey bglock............ you are right on with you out line in points.. what are you a NCCA judge or something ? like i said tho.... you are 100% correct on you list of points. the motor is SO OVER LOOKED it is not even funny.... that is going to be the last area i work on ( so i can make it perfect), of course now just having the basics like intake, headers, some braided lines & colored vaccum hoses. But if someone is looking to build the "ULTIMATE SHOW CAR" it takes time & money. no top show car i ever built or have seen was done over night.

As for me, my car right now is in a million peices i am fiberglassing the dash , doors and all the rest of the interior.... and the car itself is in the paint booth getting a custom paint job ( pics to come soon )

well good luck with you project keep us posted !

I was actually thinking about the ralliart decal(yesterday, looking at censee's car), dayum I almost feel like im getting flamed for saying i'd like to build a show car. I am an avid enthusiast and I go to shows, and if you look through the pics that I mostly took in the gallery over at www.galants.org , I do see cars, and pay attention to details. I haven't mentioned much more of the little things or how extensive I know it is, but I mean I have more in store, and never said it happens over night, especially not on an average persons time/budget.

Basically, I am building this car to be some or all of your inputs(where possible). I mean Allan(pinoyesv6/an8gpinoy) gave me tips over at the .org( www.galants.org ) and I found myself on ebay and the net looking for tein basic's . So just try to be positive, and understand I'm not a noob to the scene, and would like it if you have some parts I need, or know someone or somewhere with them for the low, then send me there way or vice versa.

My only question is, the bumper is being shaved, I was going to do a weird license plate install somewhere, but I think I may stick it on the bumper, The question is I originally wanted to install it off center, but someone said keep the license plate centered. So anyone have any ideas. Or the final suggestion is should I keep the back shaved mount the plate in the back window?
