What are the differences and benefits between the urethane and fiberglass?

I can tell you all the bad things about urethane...or at least one major problem. My friend owns a supra with the stillen front end, which is made from urethane. When the sun is facing the front of the car, the urethane heats up and sturts sagging all over the place (air dam area, bottom, between the fender and the bumper). That's the mafor downside of it. The benefit is that you can't break it, it can be ripped off the car...that's about it. While fiberglass can crack after a little hit in the wrong spot.

Do you have any other pictures of the body kit???????

Urethane, though nice to have because its unbreakable, often like pavel says, changed form when it is in just a little heat, if u live in a colder cool climate it is good where as fiberglass, is more sturdy, but alot more fragil as it is breakable

however, If the fiberglass breaks, scratches or cracks; it is a whole lot easier to repair.

NYC,
Y does it cost so much to make the mold for urethane? cant they use the same mold but use the diffrent raw materials when they press the bumper?

here is the side view

Urethane costs more cuz its a better material, like my prototype will be made of fiberglass cuz I dont have the $$ to afford urethane, its costing me $500 to get the bumper itself made, the sides from teh accord fit perfectly, once i get my bumper made, its $500 for a mold to be made, thats $1000, however it will only cost u guys like $300 for the bumper and whatever price erebuni sells the sides, i'm just making the front to fit on a 7g, thats my main concern, after i get that done, i'll work on the rear bumper, cuz i'm using my car as the match-up, I'll get u guys more info as the progress moves on

So the kit is being molded by Erebuni?
After your G is fitted they are going to mass produce it for the rest of us or will it be a special order type situation?
Looks good Denver, your G is on the fast track to complete madness! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_twisted.gif

I have to disagree, i am not a fan of the kit, then again im not sure what it will llok like on the galant, i just wish that someone would mold or make a kit that has a more agressive look to it, like the blitz or anything Neo, i mean to me and this is just my own opinion, it doesnt look that diffrent then the stock one that comes on hondas... im sure it will look good, and probably looks better in person

Denver,
Are u paying out of pocket or is the fact that u have a sponsor helping you out, i know erebuni will pay for your kit if u get on a magazine cover or whatnot

urethane isn't the greatest here...from my bodyman he tried to paint a tsunami front end 6 different times before he finally got the paint to stick properly. He said that the urethane has small holes in it that the paint doesn't go in all the way. Looks like rain he said when your done. It's a terrible medium to work with. He says fiberglass is the way to go. *note...the tsunami front end was painted prior to him working on it. He found out afterward that the first paint job took 8 coats to get it right*

Denver, kit looks really good and its not that expensive. What is the name of the company that is making it for you? And how did you get them to do it? Whats it on a 94-97 4-door accord (I personally like that style a lot...the car that is). Way to go Denver!
