Best Strut Bar for 8G

Aight, I'm looking for a good strut and I have seen that a lot of people have freedom design for the 8g. I cant seem to find this b/c the only place I have found that has it is out of stock. I was looking at strut bar's from a 2001 Eclipse. Is the stock one any good or would u guyz reccomend a performance one like this?

the best one produced so far was made by Road Race Engineering, but they're no longer sold, and tough to get your hands on...if you want somethin that looks good with minimal performance, get a Freedom Design, if you want the best performance and can't find an RRE bar...get the oem 3g spyder bar...and paint it whatever color ya want https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

ya, i have the dc sports strut bar that you posted. any strut bar that u can stand on and NON adjustable is a good strong bar. DC sports fits both those req. and it looks the best out of the eclipse, and RRE bars

I have one actually have two, the stock 3g that was spray painted red as well as an off brand aftermarket one with Galant spelled out on it.

i don't really see a difference between that and the 3g eclipse...besides the fact taht the eclipse one is black...

there is a difference. the 3g gt coupe strut bar come with the 3g gt coupe. the spyder bar comes with a spyeder. other than that, they're the same. same part numbers and everything.

Carbide also makes one, which is probably the cleanest looking (and most expensive=$320) although it's meant for the gt manual since it has a master cylinder stopper as part of it.

Well I just got a strut bar off a 2000 Eclipse from the mitsu dealership. Of course I didn't realize you needed the brackets w/ it so I had them order that and now it's gonna be a few more days befroe I can put it on. Hopefully over the weekend. I thought it wasn't going to work at first tho b/c when I dry fitted it without the brackets, it was laying on something on my engine. One of the small pipes coming off of it. Hopefully w/ the brackets, this problem will be resolved. Not very pretty tho... :? But as long as it is a quality strut then it's all good. Wish me luck... I'll post picks after it's all in.

Yeah, the pipe will be close, but not in the way by any means, don't worry.

check out optauto.com, under strut bars for the eclipse..i think it's the 2nd from the top, although it doenst show a pic of the actual model. (i would imagine it look simliar to the evo's)

Oh, Carbing. You said Carbide. Anyway, I found a picture of it and it doesn't look all that impressive. For the Galant, it won't do anything that the stock Eclipse bar can't do since neither one will bolt to the firewall.

they use generic pics. thats why. if you look at the fine print, it will say "actual product may vary from photo" or somthing like that

The 3G Bar is alright but It just did not convince me as a great performer considering that in the Eclipse ist bolted solid to the fire wall. I hope some one comes up with a solid but affordable one soon.
