My engine light showed the code P0141 which is the O2 sensor on Bank #1, Sensor #2. For some reason, I am having a REALLY tough time getting the sensor loose. Any tips on how to get it out? I've tried a torque wrench, WD-40, and even to the extent of an impact gun. Please help.

Have you tried PB Blaster? Soak some on the threads and let it sit for a while, then try it. If it still doesn't budge, add some more PB Blaster, let it sit for a bit again, then try.

Are you using an O2 sensor socket? Have you tried a breaker bar, or a piece of pipe to extend the wrench for more leverage?

By the way, do not use a torque wrench to loosen stuff, as it will knock it out of calibration.

Yes, I've been using an O2 sensor socket. I just went to the store to get some PB blaster, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I actually went to a mechanic I know today to try and take it off. He used some PB blaster a few times, and actually broke his O2 sensor socket. He just said he needed a few more hours to get it done, so I'll just try it myself again before bringing it to him as a last resort.

its under the car.

if you look at the engine from under the hood at both bank 1 and 2, you'll the their #1 sensors.

if you look from under the car, the first ones you'll see is the #2 sensors.

I had this problem today removing the pre-cat, bank #1 O2 sensor, I used some WD40 and quite a bit of force with the breaker bar, eventually it came undone.

My real problem though, is threading the new one back in. I've spent quite a while trying to do this, but it wont engage. I had a search around the internet, and found recommendations to heat up the threaded collar with a hand torch, is this a good idea? <Edit> after more searching I found a mini torch for sale at Autozone (link below) would this do the job? advice/tips appreciated. Thank you.

My o2 sensor (after cat) also needs to be replaced. Darn it, I hate going under the car during this cold season.
