Trust me, you really don't want to put those on your car. Just have some patience and wait on those springs. I know that you can't wait but it'll be worth it in the end.

i was the one you were referring to about cutting springs, but i never did!! i got good feedback, and desided against it and waited mor my megan racing springs and quickly found out that i nneded new shocks/struts.

the wait is definately worth it and the ride quality is well worth the time spent waiting. if you are going stock to lowered and never replaced your shocks and struts, you may want to go ahead and do so all at once.

kyb's are a great brand to go with and well worth the money! i got the gr2's but a lot of people get the agx to have the adjustability.

just get some meagan springs, or even k-sport.

i can vouch for the meagan springs being quality. i put some on a 8g a while back and was blown away by how well they ride.
i'd recomend with any lowering springs that you throw on a set of aftermarket shocks, but if you don't it will still be a decent ride.
i'd say that Progress and Meagan are side by side.

NEVER CUT STOCK SPRINGS.

that being said, i might b the only one to ever ride cut springs on the 8G but they were performance springs (H&R). they were the only springs available in 1999 (which might make me the first to lower the USDM 8G on aftermarket springs). well they just didn't drop the car low enough so i had one coil cut from each spring. if i had to do it all over again, i would have waited and just bought progress (they were 2nd or 3rd to come to market w/ springs for our platform) since they would have lowered the car to where i wanted it. long story short i now have full matched adjustable coilovers (TEIN SS-P) and would have done that from the start if they were available. full matched coilovers really are that much better than drop springs and performance chocks.

as i've been saying. you dont NEED new shocks if your old ones are still good. i have a 2003 galant so my shocks were still pretty new. been riding on Tein springs and stock shocks for about a yr now and theyre still fine.... tho i suspect them to be dying around now. if youre doing your own install, then u wont have to replace ur shocks at the same time. if you are paying a shop to do it, then yea. buy new shocks too to save money later.

dude, those are what you use to take the springs out from the strut housing. your springs will come off the minute you leave your garage.

KYB GR-2 set for ~$200-220

If you are really desperate, you can get OEM for ~$180-190 for the set, but you might as well save the extra and get the GR-2s.

I'm also still riding on stock shocks, for almost 2 years, but I definitely need new shocks (hurry up tax return!)

I have a set of cut Eibach Pro Kit. I un-knowingly bought them already cut. They were sold to me as Sportlines so I didnt think anything different untill I noticed Sportlines were red and mine were black! But Its dropped the same as Sportlines were. The ride is not bad at all really. Later I found out that they were DjPlays old springs and he had them cut at shop, so it wasnt ghetto or heated up and cut or anthing. Anywho, wouldnt recommend cutting stock springs or aftermarket. Lowering springs are cheap, just buy a set https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif
