Raspy sounds is usually due to the tuned headers where the exhaust pulses from each cylinder stays intact without colliding with the other pulses. At high engine rpm, the pulses resonate the pipes and it comes out sounding raspy. A resonator is definitely going to quite it down a lot and hopefully enough to tone down that raspy note. Good luck finding 2.5" resonator though.

For what it's worth, I still have a stock catback so the stock resonator is still there and with the install of the headers, I too have a hint of raspiness above 5k on the tach. It's not bad at all now.

I'm hoping the opposite will happen in my situation where a new catback will deepen the tone and get rid of the rasp up top.
