Ok, I've searched around and here is what I got. there are a limited amount of body kits out there for our cars. However, after looking over some things, chances are likely i want to do a JDM front with OEM sideskirts. Forgive me if this a question that has been answered(but I can't freekin find it anywhere) who sells them or where can I find these parts? and will the front of a E84A Galant VR-4 of the same year fit? I cannot find pictures of one anywhere(I might be searching for the wrong thing). I am either interested in a VR-4 front or Diamond series front. thanks guys.

If you have a 99-2003 galant...
did you look in the member's pictures thread for the pictures...i'm surprized you didn't find anything...

any front end from a 96-2004 JDM Galant will fit the USDM. Some with more work than others. They all need some work though.

Look for these names...these members have JDM fronts..

GoldGalant[Reborn]
Kalamidad
Danger Danj
SleekGTZ
Mochanes
Dominicano
Goosey2099
Mante <--------------he imported a real VR4
FrankMB

and a lot others. look for their posts on the pictures forums.

Also, the there are three people you can go to for JDM parts.
Triggermauve
FrankMB <-----is selling a bumper right now...Here's a link to it ('https://www.thegalantcenter.org/viewtopic.php?t=45382&start=0')
and af200sx/se-r

you have to send them a personal Message asking them for the prices of whatever you want.

For the USDM side skirts you can contact
Blownoffvalve

Search the for sale/trade forum for other stuff that may be on sale.
Also, and the good/bad traders forum to get some feedback on whoever you're looking to buy from.

If you have a 7G 94-98
Peanotation has a JDM Bumper you might like. Look for his car.

Proto,

You have a diamond on yours, right? Who did you go through? Patience and time i got. What I don't have are the resources to aquire the JDM front. A guy overseas emailed and said that brand new headlights/and front bumper for a 95 E84A Galant VR-4 would be about 50,000 yen(460.00 USD) but without shipping and I would still need the "T" bar on top of that. Call me crazy but I figure I can find it cheaper,no?

btw, can you state what this thread is about on the title line...there's anothe thread going on right now with the same title as yours. (those titles don't really help when other people are searching) just hit the edit button on top of the thread and change it there.

I have had 2 diamond edition fronts, one i bought from a importer from south carolina, the current front i won on ebay for $146 shipped. check in the for sale posts. also send a PM to triggermauve to see what he says. Also to let you know... a conversion for a 7g is not cheap. You gotta spend alot of money to get the parts you want.

Awsome, thanks guys. as for expense, I'm not worried about it(I already made the commitment that to get alot out of this car and to get it to the level i want it to be at I am obviously going to have to spend some $$) but thank you guys for the looking out. I'll check with the others and for anyone looking to get rid of theirs, send me a message. Aside from the bumper, lights and "T" bar, anything else to get for the conversion(aside from the paint job)?

I owe you guys one. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

If you get the Diamond Edition( http://mazarin.pandarage.com/galant/diamonded/ ('http://mazarin.pandarage.com/galant/diamonded/') ) All you'd need would be the grills. Other than what you've covered, that's pretty much it!

Peano does not have a JDM front. He has the drifter/aggressor bodykit, which yes, is fitted to JDM spec, but is not a factory JDM kit like the VR-4 or Diamond Ed.

Look up MXSaloon and I think Vr6 has a JDM too. A few people have very nice JDMs.

You also might look into the bumper support. The jdm bumpers are significantly shorter. and your stock bumper support will be too long
http://mazarin.pandarage.com/galant/diamonded/jdmfit1.jpg

i think Maz used a honda bumper support, which is crucial if you are ever in a front end collision. the bumper support will protect you from having a small fender bender turn into engine damage and what not.

The guy that painted my kit didn't put the bumper support in, and i've been fairly careful. I know it's going to be one thing i look into when i do my swap.

honestly i couldnt tell you what to use far a crashbar is concerned but an idea of mine is a solid piece of aluminum tube or fence pole

I've been around since before the sight crashed in 2002!!! dang that's a long time!!!
I used to be in the 7g customizing till i got my kit, now i'm trying to get this swap done. So, now i spend my time in the 7g performance forum. That and since i've been on so long there's not much that comes up that i haven't seen before.

I need to get around all the topics more, and i've been trying to latelyt. I guess i'm one of those guys that doesn't post much unless it's worth posting.

Well, what i meant by the whole JDM spec thing was the whole crashbar thing. The Drifter kit causes you to have to remove your crashbar, right? I could be mistaken...

Blue Ice
04-12-2006, 09:59 AM
yes, you have to remove the crash bar to fit the kit peano and i have. When we originally did the group buy, the company (erac1ng.com) made a crash bar for the kit. I'm not sure if they are still offering the crash bar, or if they are even still open for business. I know a lot of people had problems with them, although my transaction went rather smoothly.
Good luck, if you go to them.
