just get a used mitsu unit.
mitsu starters RARELY fail. EVER.

Agreed.

Not sure whats happening with your starter...but most starters just need the contacts replaced after a period of time. I know at Toyota most older starters just needed new copper contacts and they started working like a champ.

Mitsu starters, Honda starters, Toyota starters...they're all rare to fail...UNLESS they have oil leaking on them. Only diesels and other high compression engines have common starter problems.

99.999999% of the starters I replace are covered in oil.

That being said, avoid Bosch starters like the plague! I'd say a good 1 in 5 fails right out of the box. Bosch parts are for German cars, and they suck in anything else.

Try to find a Nippon/Denso or Mitsu starter. Or just go to the dealership.

thanks for all the info guys. yeah i'll go to my local Mitsu dealer and buy one.
