I realized many compliant about how short a Silverstar can Last... So I decide to go HID.

But is there anyways, you can just buy a HID Xenon bulb, without the conversation kit? will that work?

what kit is cheap and reliable?
(where is the best place to buy it? Price please!) :?:

and I did use the search function. but i found nothing good.

you will definitely need ballasts to run hid bulbs. i have heard good things about the mccullogh (spelled right?) kits.

I've got a McCulloch 8000K HID Kit. Had it for over a year, no problems. I previously had a Sniper 8000K HID Kit that lasted only for a few months before I had problems.

Next step.. dual projectors, dual angel eyes, HID fogs and TRUE hid heads https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

His name is Peter. He's in the OC. I have his # if anyone interested. 1 year warranty on ballast. 3 months on bulb. You meet him at his shop, so any issues, you can go there. Its plug and play and if ur still no knowledgable to do that, he has done it on my friends car since my homeboy didnt wanna touch anything under the hood. He didnt wanna get his clothes dirty. what a lazy ass...LOL

I have a McCulloch 10,000k kit that I bought used, but it wasn't long before one of the bulbs crapped out on me. So, I bought THESE ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8060420613&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT') 4,300k bulbs on ebay. I got them yesterday and installed them this afternoon. They are bright as hell.

If anyone has a McCulloch 10,000k kit, and I guees any 10,000k kit, and you want my other bulb that still works, let me know. You can have it for the cost of shipping or pick it up for free.

They are about $239... thats pretty cheap for an HID system... hopefully they last.

man all these kits are so expensive!!! is there anyway i can buy Ballasts and bulb seperately, so they will be cheaper?

I currently have a set of McCulloch 8000k HIDS and I love them. I wanna get a pair of HID's for my fogs but do they make the HID bulb size for our stog fogs??

pinoyesv6
07-15-2006, 09:42 PM
i wouldn't put HID's in the stock fog housings. you'll more than likely warp the fog and end up buying some new ones. and if you go for oem again, you'll warp them too.

The F.B.I

didn't someone put HID in their fogs already?

Yeah, and with Hella fogs, the lenses are probably glass. With our stock fogs, the lenses are plastic and can possibly melt if things get too hot.

I have the 6k kit from DNL Auto. So far so good. Not the best install, but good color I feel. Just don't know how long they'll last, I've had um for a couple months now. I love them though, very crisp and bright.

yeah James you should be able to. I believe you just have to make sure that the bulb has enough room in the fog light, ya know what I mean? the depth to the lense
