wadda guys think?

and i need to choose between these two.. they are the only tires currently in the warehouse i can get for next to nothing..

i think the Hankooks are all season too.. the Kumhos are summer.. hmm.. should just probably grab the kumhos and throw some snow tires on my 16's... thoughts?

As do I on the Eclipse. Only had them for 1000 miles now. So far so good. I recommend them over the Kumho's. The guys at the tire shop said they're great. Only time will tell how they hold up. The ride quality is way better than the Yokomhama's I had before too, but they're a way different tire. Nice lookin too.

I heard from some of my VW buddies to stay away from those tires if you do any type of "spirited driving" as they loose their grip easily & also are prone to flat quickly,

had em for 2 years - ... i have 75000 on the G now... i got a flat a few times cuz they are low profile - hit a bad pothole... and then ran over a boulder! lmao... but i recommend em - i dont know the horror stories - cuz i haven't experienced any horrors wit em... :-/

Kumhos and snow tires.

I ran two sets of Kumho 711s on my Galant. The first set lasted 40,000 miles. Great tires for the money. Nothing better then a dedicated summer and dedicated snow tire setup. You can probably get a 205/55-16 snow tire cheap too, that will be (even if its the cheapest) better than any all season tire period.

i have them love them and love the traction. VW guys dont have any tractin in the first place. wear isnt too bad, i always think theyre more worn than they actually are though. the look more worn by appearance than tread depth. they also can handle some hardcore potholes ive put my car thru. and they have a curb guard

Both are good brands but I think you should get the Yokohama's

and make sure you get the right size...215/40/17 is going to look small on the G

you need 215/45 when you're riding on 17's

also to keep in trend with this thread, I keep my wheels and tires on March-November and the Ecsta 711's have been good so far.
