whats up I installed my k headers and reset my battery a couple times, the light would go off after I started it then a little while after that it is on again. I had to extend my o2 sensor wires so it would reached the headers but I dont think that would cause the problem, then I notice at the end of my radiator hoese there was this green crust and alittle fluid at the end of the hose, would that cause it. What do you guys think?

Na, crusty green stuff is just the coolant from the radiator. That's normal... well what's normal for Mitsubishi b/c they use such crappy hose clamps on a high pressure hose like the radiator. Just buy some real hose clamps to replace the stock ones and clean off the crusty mess and you should be good.

As for tripping the SES light, that's strictly for emissions or what I've been told. A couple of things could be happening to trigger it. 1) you didn't do a good job with extending the O2 sensor, 2) you don't have the O2 sensor that was behind the precat or main cat AFTER the main cat now (I believe you lose the precat with this shorty header if you have a Calif. spec), 3) your ECU hasn't completed making adjustments to the new headers yet so you might need to drive it a little longer to get that straightened out... may take as much as 3 days of driving, 4) you are running too rich/lean with the new headers and need the aid of an AFC to fix the mixture correctly.

first of all the AFC comes with a guage on it so u can monitor your a/f ratio

guages like this on the left

look pretty but don't give u enough information for tuning.

if u want a guage like that, u can build a similar one for under 10 dollars

many of the 8g owners have it but the v6 owners are having trouble with theirs. if you own a i4 u should be str8, a memeber ak1 has one and hasn't had any trouble @ least posted on the board

as for tuning it. well you don't wanna mess with it unless you know what ur doing. you can ruin your car. yea that means professional. and i recommend a pro too for the install
