I know I've posted on TempTGC and GF, but for those who've missed the latest update:

Finally got my ride back from the shop, I've addded a set of of BBS MR wheels off an EVO 9...nothing too fancy, but it's looking pretty good.

Nice wheels man, do you just find these things sitting around in some Evo junkyard or what?

Ya, I use to have EVO Enkeis, but I was cut off and forced into a median curb...so I went over it at around 35 and totally bent 3 wheels and cracked one. Insurance bought me the MRs and tires... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif They weren't the cheapest thing...1250 shipped with Advan tires, but that was a steal concidering I've seen the wheels alone sell for that price.

I haven't pushed the car yet since I got it back, but sometime soon I'll see how it goes off the line. I'm assuming with the light wheels I'll probably spin pretty easy.

Is it safe to say that +38 offset is the lowest offset # you can go with the rear fenders rolled and will keep the wheels inside the fender on the 8th gen?

MR BBS are +38.

Looks good. Every time I see BBS I think of the old bulletin board systems in the dialup years... yeah I'm oldschool.

I'd say yes, since these look pretty good. I think they gave me a little aggressive camber to make it look good but I dont have the alignment numbers yet...I didn't know they are +38, but this makes sense since they look to sit better than the Enkeis ever did.

PRIVAT make wheels in a +40 offset that will clear the brembos...both in 18" and 19". I liked the Fahrens, but they're discontinued. I believe FrankMB was going with the Profil. These are make by Konig though, so they're probably pretty soft and easy to bend.

yeah. I'm looking to get this

18x8.5 +37 for the 8th gen. Not sure how tight the fit is gonna be.

EDIT: Emailed them and waiting on what they say.

I'd say there's no chance in hell those will fit properly. Contact the manufacturer and try to find the backspacing...if it's under 5.5", you're going to have fun fitting these.

The BBS wheels you have in those pics did not require a spacer correct? Just confirming.

Thanks.

nice wheels man. i like the evo 9 wheels much better then the evo8's. one piece of advice, those tires in any kinda weather dry or very light rain SUCK and they wear very very quickly. Make sure you get a wheel alignment. My friend had an evo8 that he dropped, killed those tires in 6,000 miles.

I'm not running the Advans now, I'm running Falken ZE-512s....after the incident with the rain and hitting the curb, I'm only going to use the Advans on the track when it's DRY.

hey, how do u like those 512's? I wrapped some 17" Motegis in em.. not too crazy about the sidewall... but god damn, good luck tryin to break em in the rain.. those fuckers got some crazy wet traction.. the last few bad rains weve had in the NW burbs ive pushed em just to see what they got.. finally outran my boy in his TL.. he needs new tires..

ChikagoGTZ

They have good traction and are harder to break loose than most but I can still break loose easily in the rain....
