Eh...they're from 1990, and are simply a NA VR4 I believe....alot of them are attempted to be passed off as "pre-badged" VR-4s when guys add a small turbo to them.

There was an immaculate Galant GSX on eBay a few weeks ago. KBB is something like $510, it sold for over $2,400 haha! I wish it would have stayed around $800, I would have snagged it.

they are horribly underpowered, though. I drove a few in my day.

also, the ECS is expensive as hell when it fails.

(there are pre-badged VR4's though, I believe about 7 from info on galantvr4.org)

The G-GSX also doesnt have the 4WS that the GVR4 does.

AND they have cool little 'pockets' .

One is part of the underdash on the driver's side. & they also can have a pod on the dash for electronic suspension.

-----------
SO, if anybody finds one in the yard that has dark grey/ black interior. PLEASE grab the underdash & EMPTY suspension pod for me.

I have a GSX right now, just over 100K on the odometer. Let me tell you, AWD is GREAT! Right now I'm fixing a number of problems on the car, but I've taken almost the whole car apart (it's my project car), so if anyone picks one up, or owns one, just ask me anything you want, if I don't know the answer, I will either know soon, or can look it up (have factory manual).

just a quick question. is there anything different about 4g's in an eclipse an the 4g's in 6gen galants? such as different oil pan or other things of that nature? cause chances are that when this motor pops a 6 bolt will be going in.

Oil pan is different as your car currently is NA, turbo oil pan will just be tapped for an oil return line. Your motor is the same, just different pistons/rods(I think) and a lack of some oil squirters. The head is the same minus the camshafts.

A 6bolt 4g63t will drop into your car with ease, its pretty much meant to be there. You would just have to swap to a VR4 ECu and you would be set.

would the ecu plug right up into the vr4 ecu? or could i just use a 1st gen eclipse ecu.

The ecu's are the same but beware if it's been sent to a performance shop, or if it comes from a TSi. I have two friends with TSi's and one put a performance tuned ecu from a vr-4 (was wrecked :( ) and it did all kinds of weird things to his car, which would lead me to believe that "weirdness" could happen with a switch in the opposite direction. All I'm saying is, if you are gonna get a new ecu, make sure it's stock and THEN send it in with YOUR requirements of modification, to a tuning shop. It may cost a little more money initially, but could just as easily save you a lot of money later on.

when i get to the point of tuning i will be tuning it with safc on my own. i dont want other people to tune it for me.
